COMPLETE REVIEW

Relaxonchair is an American company based in California. It is FDA approved and it specializes in massage chairs.

The MK-II Plus model is a high quality massage chair, although the cheapest one commercialized by Relaxonchair.

The chair comes in two colors: chocolate and charcoal and it is a full body, zero gravity Shiatsu massage chair.

Main specs:

  • Dimensions (L x W x H): 65 x 30 x 40 inches
  • Weight: 183 lbs.
  • Recommended max. weight: 345 lbs.
  • Power consumption: 230W
  • User height: ranges from 5’2” and 6’2”
  • Airbag massage technology (with three levels of airbag intensity control)
  • Computerized body scanning
  • 4 automatic and 5 manual massage programs

The MK-II Plus is a smart massage chair with lots of features and capabilities. It is a pretty bulky and heavy chair so don’t expect it to fit in any type of space, especially when using the Zero Gravity feature on it, because you have to recline it entirely. It is covered in synthetic leather and it has wheels in the back, to help you move it easier.

The MK-II Plus is a smart and complex chair and because it is approved by the FDA, it can be used as a medical device. It is made in China. The chair doesn’t come assembled, but you can opt for their white glove delivery system for an extra cost and have the delivery men do that job for you.

In addition to the 4 automatic programs (relaxation, rejuvenate, stretch, deep tissue), you also get 5 manual ones: kneading, tapping, kneading & tapping, shiatsu, rolling. They are not so different from one another, but rather variations in intensity, but it is still reassuring to know you’ve got enough options to choose from.

Before starting your massage, the MK-II Plus first performs a computerized body scan, to measure the length of your spine and make the proper adjustments to the rollers. While this scan is not 100% accurate, it gets impressively close most of the times.

The MK-II Plus is not just Zero Gravity capable, but it offers 3 zero-gravity seating positions, which is an admirable thing, given that most chairs offer only one or none at all.

There are 3 speed levels and 3 levels of airbag intensity control. Intensity-wise, we found the foot rollers to be a bit too intense, almost to the point of hurting your feet. There are some tricks you can use to make them less strong, such as putting shoe inserts or maybe wearing an additional pair of socks, but just in case, it is good to know about this aspect before purchasing this massage chair.

The remote control of the MK-II Plus is big and has visible LCD screen. It is very user friendly and it offers full control. The only thing you might find annoying regarding the remote is the fact that it beeps quite loudly, which can really get you out of your relaxed mood. And unfortunately, there is no mute option or volume adjustment on it.

We liked the fact that the MK-II Plus comes with 20 airbags placed in strategic points on the chair. They are really helpful in relieving your muscle tension.

Another useful feature is the lower back heating, offered by the two heating pads placed in the lower back area.

Other interesting characteristics to be mentioned: the l-tracking massage system, the deep tissue massage and full body stretching, adjustable shoulder pads, the extendable ottomans, the decompression feature.

What this chair lacks is music support, but that’s not in any way a deal breaker.

Overall, the MK-II Plus can still be considered a budget friendly option with plenty of features and capabilities.

Pricing

On the official Relaxonchair website, the MK-II Plus goes for $1,699 with Curbside delivery and $1,999 with White Glove delivery. The chair comes with a 3-year limited warranty.
