PROS:
CONS:
The Human Touch iJoy Active 2.0 is an entry-level massage chair with a very attractive price. While it is limited in features, it does have the basic ones and can deliver a deep, relaxing, pain free massage. It uses orbital, stretch and glide techniques and it is very small and compact. People with limited space or who live in small apartments, should definitely consider this product.
Human Touch is one of the largest suppliers of massage chairs in the US. The company has been on the market for more than 35 years. On their website, they claim they strive to replicate in their products techniques used by massage professionals.
Their iJoy Active 2.0 is one of the best-selling massage chairs on a budget. Although it costs over $500, this is considered a decent price for a good massage chair.
Main specs:
As you can see from the specifications, the iJoy Active 2.0 is a relatively small chair, with a compact design, so you can fit it in small apartments where space is limited. It even comes with a lever in the back which can help you make the chair even more compact when you want to put it in storage.
You should be aware though that this chair is not suited for everyone. People who are taller than 6 inches may not feel that comfortable in it.
The Active 2.0 comes fully assembled, so there’s no work required on your part. All you have to do is sit in it and enjoy the massage. The chair comes in two available colors: bone and espresso. The chair is made of SoftHyde fabric, which is a good looking leather imitation. There is an adjustable head pillow, a reclining strap and a tethered remote control which is always at your fingertip.
Human Touch ranks the Active 2.0 as a vigorous massage chair. The only intensity level higher than this is the ‘intense’ one, which is the most powerful. Below the iJoy Active 2.0 there are products that have a moderate, relaxing or a gentle massage intensity.
When you first use the iJoy Active 2.0 you might find the higher settings a bit too rough. That feeling fades with time especially after your learn to set the chair to your liking by adjusting the roller width and intensity settings.
The iJoy Active 2.0 is a simple but efficient massage chair. It doesn’t have as many features as other more premium chairs, but it does a great job with what it has. There are no built-in speakers to listen to music and you don’t have aromatherapy. A foot rest and heating therapy are missing as well.
What it does have are three auto-massage programs you can choose from (Think, Perform and Recharge) and their very own FlexGlide orbital massage technology. The FlexGlide technology ensures you benefit from a relaxing, deep, painless massage, with no pinching or friction. The chair uses a combination of roller and vibration massage. In addition to Orbital and Glide, there’s also the Stretch technique. They all put the right amount of pressure on your muscles, so that you’ll get an efficient, relaxing and rejuvenating massage. The orbital technique is useful in reducing back pain, the glide one loosens and warms up your muscles to get you ready for a more advanced, deeper massage and the stretch technique reduces and even eliminates muscle pain and helps in flushing out toxins.
The Human Touch iJoy Active 2.0 is definitely a basic, entry-level massage chair. While its price might make you doubt its capabilities, and although it is a bit limited in features, this chair does an impressive job for its price.
On the official website you can order the chair for $549. It comes with free delivery and a 2 year basic warranty. The item is delivered fully assembled.
