COMPLETE REVIEW

The Infinity IT-8500 is comercialized by Infinite Therapeutics. Infinite Therapeutics is a division of Infinite Creative Enterprises, an American company based in Seabrook, New Hampshire, which is on the market for 20 years.

The Infinity Therapeutic Massage Chairs line was launched in 2009. The IT-8500 is a high-end massage chair with therapeutic functions and it is among the most affordable models offered by the company.

Main specs:

  • Upright dimensions (L x W x H): 59 x 35.4 x 45.7 inches
  • Reclined dimensions: 74 x 35.4 x 36.2
  • Weight: 229 lbs.
  • Weight capacity: 265 lbs.
  • Power consumption: 190W
  • Built-in speakers
  • Height range: 5’1” – 6’4”
  • MP3 USB port; headphone port
  • Two zero gravity positions
  • Lumbar heat
  • Airbag pressure massage technology

The IT-8500 comes in three colors: artistic taupe, chocolate brown and black. It has a synthetic leather upholstery and it is a large, heavy item. It is spacious and wide and can fit people as tall as 6’4”. It doesn’t come assembled and we can tell you from personal experience that assembling it’s really time and energy consuming. The chair does come with a screwdriver and an Allen wrench, but nevertheless, it is a tiring task. We’d kindly recommend that you go with the white glove delivery if possible, because you’d rather save your strength and nerves than your money, with this one.

The IT-8500 has wheels in the back, but even so, it is quite difficult to haul around, so do yourself a favor and install it in the room you want it to be, to save yourself the trouble of moving it throughout the house.

The Infinity IT-8500 is a therapeutic chair massage, so people with chronic back, neck, shoulder pain and so on, can really benefit from its features. The chair has two zero gravity positions, four auto massage programs (relax, recover, refresh and extend) and 6 massage techniques: kneading, knocking, tapping, kneading and tapping, dual action and Shiatsu. One special thing about it is the fact that it has a dual action feature. That means you can choose 2 massage techniques and combine them. The length of a massage session varies between 10 and 45 minutes.

Then there’s the 3D body scan which detects your pressure points and adjusts the rollers accordingly. You can make further adjustments using the remote control.

The IT-8500 has front facing built-in speakers, a headphone jack and a USB port. There is also a cool feature related to the audio abilities of the chair: the synchronic massage, which make the rollers move and massage according to the beat of the music you are playing.

The chair uses airbag pressure massage for your shoulders, arms, pillow, seat and feet. There are 38 airbags and 5 available intensity levels.

The spine correction function and the waist twist are also really useful: the first one uses the tru-grip V stretch to stretch out the spine and correct/improve your overall posture. The latter works by swiveling the seat and moving, warming up and massaging your hips. People with lower back pain will really benefit from this feature.

The IT-8500 has 3 mechanical foot rollers which can be a bit too rough on your feet. The massage they give is quite strong and even though you can choose between three levels of speed, the foot massage constantly feels too intense, almost painful, so if you prefer a gentle massage, you might not like the IT-8500 from this point of view.

Other note-worthy features of the IT-8500 are: lumbar heat, inversion therapy (it helps decompressing your spine), spot massage.

The remote control of the IT-8500 is simple to use and it allows you to adjust the intensity, duration and speed of your massage, among others. You can also control the music you play. The only problem we noticed regarding it, was the fact that it can be a bit hard to see some of the controls in darker conditions.

Pricing

You can order the IT-8500 on Amazon for $4,295. The chair comes with free delivery, one year parts and labor warranty and a 3-year limited warranty.
