COMPLETE REVIEW

With its great number of features and really friendly pricing, RingCentral might be considered exemplary and overall superior to most competitors, though it is not perfect. It gives a choice between both page-limited and unlimited plans.

Users can test the service quality and usability through a 30-day free trial which can refer to any metered plan. The service takes into consideration that on average it takes 1 minute to send a page. With every metered plan subscription one local fax number is allotted, additional numbers, both local and toll-free are available. This also goes to the Fax Unlimited/Corporate plan, which comes with two included shared fax numbers. All numbers allotted to a subscription or contract are managed by a single administrator.

Fax messages sent through RingCentral can be really large: this provider limits document length to 200 pages and 20 MB. There are no limitations to the amount of recipients who are to be faxed a single message. Speaking of email to fax and fax to email, possibilities, up to 25 email addresses can be used for sending faxes, whilst the inbound ones can be accessed from up to 30 addresses.

NUMBER OPTIONS

With RingCentral, fax clients can get local numbers in 49 states and the District of Columbia. Two toll-free number options are available: 800, which comes with a one-time $30 surcharge as well as 855, 866 and 877 which only cost on a monthly basis. Your existing fax numbers can be ported to RingCentral. There is no limit to the amount of additional numbers that a user can subscribe to.

PORTABILITY AND INTEGRATIONS

RingCentral stands out with a Microsoft Office application which allows users to send all MS Office files straight from the application. Other than that, pdf, psd, rtf, xml text files are supported, as well as jpg, jpeg, bmp, gif png, tif, tiff, pcx and tga graphic image files, html, wq1 and csv.

This provider offers both desktop and mobile apps which can be used on most computers, tablets and smartphones. These apps allow access to all capabilities of the service, from sending and receiving fax through full account management to accessing all possibilities enabled by integrations.

Cloud integrations include Google Drive, Box and Dropbox. All files stored on some of these services can be faxed directly through the desktop and mobile app.

SECURITY AND ARCHIVES

The whole faxing process in RingCentral is encrypted. To add even more security, incoming faxes can be kept in the online account which is password-protected. HIPAA Conduit Service can be added to give confidential patient info an absolute privacy and let many health professionals able to have a fully suitable and law-abiding communication via fax.

Unwanted and junk emails can be blocked from anyone with or without number sender ID.

On its server RingCentral can store 200 messages for an unlimited amount of time. For storing more, refer to any integrated cloud services whose terms and conditions would apply.

BOTTOM LINE

RingCentral is an absolute market leader with its strong, feature-rich service and low cost per page. However, it has recently discontinued those cheap plans which included 300 or 500 pages, and cost as little as $7. If you use fax only occasionally and send a small amount of pages in a month, this provider might not the the best choice. Otherwise, it might be perhaps the best service with online faxing products any competitors have yet to match.

Pricing

Those who opt for this online faxing  provider can choose among three metered and one unlimited plan. Limitations pertain to combined messaging, i.e. both inbound and inbound fax page are counted. RingCentral has discontinued a really cheap Fax 500 plan, replacing it with a bit more pricy but larger Fax 750 option.

The Fax 750 is now the entry-level plan which allows for 750 total pages to be sent and received within a month, and costs $15 monthly without a contract or $13 per month with an annual commitment. Pages in overage with this plan would cost 5.9 cents.

The next plan is Fax 1500 at $23 a month or $18 monthly with an annual contract. The overage price is 4.9 cents per page.

Fax 2500 is a bit pricier and comes at $60, while an annual plan is $600. The plan is justified by a lower overage page price of 3.9 cents.

Unlimited faxing is available for $50 a month, or $40 monthly through an annual commitment. Reasonable fair use policies apply. This plan yields an advanced fax number management and administration suite.

Besides numbers which cost $5 monthly per additional number and $30 one-time fee for tool free and vanity numbers there are no addons. All standard features are included with all plans.

Until recently, RingCentral was notorious for lack of any phone support. Now, the phone support is there, though it is still unavailable for subscribers to the cheapest, Fax 750 plans who can still rely on live Web chat and email support. All users, regardless the plan, can rely on a problem-solving ticket support.

Although the user interface is really easy to use, there is an extensive learning resource base comprising of manuals, guides, video tutorials, and online user community where you can get assistance from the RingCentral admin staff, too.

As RingCentral offers both fax and VoIP, existing fax accounts can be upgraded to strong business telecommunication solutions which save money on faxing and telephony. RingCentral also rates very good on the business VoIP market, and some of the VoIP bundles include unlimited faxing to the whole US and Canada.
