COMPLETE REVIEW

MyFax is one of top-notch online faxing services which brings a long list of features. Despite not being cheap, it is able to justify every penny invested in it. The whole idea of this provider is to set you free of worries about service limitations, such as the archive storage limitation or customer service availability, just to name a few. A wealth in features for services like this is often associated with confusing user interface, but MyFax makes sure you have a good faxing experience with little time spent on learning how the whole thing rolls.

There are two ways to start with the MyFax service. First is the 30-day free trial which pertains to the lowest plan. Those who trust this provider and have greater faxing needs have to start paying for a higher tier. Unfortunately, only the cheapest plan offers an opportunity to save through an annual prepayment, and even that discount is not great.

Sending and receiving is based on email, and when you send a fax to a certain number, it is contained within the destination email address as recipientnumber@myfax.com.

There is a promise that faxes can be received by any fax machine, anywhere in the world. You would be sending faxes from five different email addresses, and all failed pages would be automatically resent, while only successful deliveries will be billed. For every successful delivery a confirmation email will follow up. Fax previews exist in the web suite and mobile app. You can send fax messages to up to 50 recipients simultaneously.

NUMBER OPTIONS

As most other faxing providers, MyFax lets you port any existing numbers or purchase new numbers which can be local and toll-free, as well as international. When you get to pick a country, a dropdown menu will list all the countries in the world, though for the majority of them there are no available numbers for that area. However, there are local numbers available in more than 40 countries outside North America, and MyFax ranks among the best for this criterion.

The great news is that every subscription includes one free number which can be a local or a toll-free number without any surcharges. On the other side, there is no choice of vanity numbers.

Your MyFax number is always available and multiple senders can fax you at the same time without getting a busy signal.

PORTABILITY AND INTEGRATIONS

MyFax mobile app is available for iOS and Android mobile devices, and allows you to do most of the service features. You can send, receive, view, store and open archive faxes while on the go. There is no desktop app, but there is no need, since the whole traffic is based on email and the Web interface called MyFax Central enables users to manage their accounts, numbers, fax archives and more. This suite can also generate various activity reports, and lets users create and manage contact lists.

MyFax might be an absolute leader in file import versatility, and the provider claims support for converting up to 178 file formats into fax messages. This includes even file formats from very old versions of Microsoft Office programs and, of course, all newer versions, standard document file formats such as PDF and CSV. Other supported files include HTML documents, CorelDRAW, Photoshop, WordPerfect, CAD Drawing Exchange Format files, and many else.

Integrations are only available to Corporate plan subscribers, where integrations with all major enterprise resource planning, accounting and customer relationship management software platforms are available.

SECURITY AND ARCHIVES

For those who consider privacy and security of fax messages a priority, MyFax is a great choice. It maintains a full fax traffic control on the both faxing and email level. Emails can get additional protection and security by activating a key for PGP encryption at no additional cost for the user. All faxes are converted into TIFF files allowing for this highly secure encryption. In the fax traffic messages are encrypted as well, just like with most other providers.

If you opt for this provider, they will keep all your archived faxes for life without conditions and restrictions. There is a junk filter and faxes are identified as junk by some key criteria and all such faxes are automatically reported.

BOTTOM LINE

MyFax is an exemplary top-notch provider whose products include extensive capabilities. If you don’t mind the price, but instead want to enjoy reliability, accessibility, advanced security and extensive support, MyFax may be the best choice, but if your faxing needs are large, while your business still remains small, it might be better to find another provider.

Pricing

MyFax is one of the many providers to offer different plan tiers for home or small business users and corporate ones. Small business plans allow a relatively low amount of traffic.

  • Home Office: send 100, receive 200 pages every month. $10 monthly or $110 annually.
  • Small Business User: Send 200 and receive 200 pages for $20 monthly.
  • Power User: Send 400 and receive 400 pages monthly for $40 monthly.

Overage costs in all plans are $0.10. The same price applies to a page in international traffic from and to countries in Western Europe, and few other developed countries, whilst for most other nations fax traffic per page would cost from $0.20 to a bit over $0.50 for certain locations in Africa and Asia.

The Corporate plan is tailored specifically for every client who gets a custom quote depending on its needs expressed in both traffic volume and standard features.
