The Pix-Star FotoConnect 10.4 is one of the most versatile and complex digital photo frames you can buy. It has a large and high-quality display and it’s loaded with an impressive number of features: it supports all image formats, audio and video playback. It has WiFi, it can show you the weather, allow you to set reminders and even play games or listen to online radio.
Pix-Star is an American company based in Delaware. It was founded in 1998 and it specializes in telecom, web design and software.
Their Pix-Star FotoConnect XD is one of the best digital picture frames on the market. They have it in 2 versions: a 10.4 inch one, which is the one we’re going to focus on in this review and a 15 inch one.
The 10.4 inch frame has WiFi and a lot of useful features, which makes it as popular as it is.

What we really love about the Pix-Star FotoConnect is the fact that it is loaded with pretty much all the features and capabilities you would need in a digital frame. Unlike other competitors which have limitations in what they offer, the Pix-Star has everything you need. It doesn’t just support JPG/JPEG photos, but also PNG, GIF and BMP and it can play audio and video.
Although it has WiFi connectivity, the Pix-Star frame also has a card slot and USB port. It has a remote control and buttons on the back, no touchscreen. The only thing that’s missing is a motion sensor.
The app is compatible with iOS and Android and once you create an account, you can control up to 25 digital photo frames.
You can send photos directly to the frame using the dedicated e-mail, or vice versa, you can send photos to friends and family, from the frame, via e-mail. It even has a spam filter so it can block unsolicited images that might end up in your inbox.
The Pix-Star FotoConnect works with all social platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Flickr and so on.
It is more than just a photo frame, it can also give you weather forecasts for specific cities and countries and you can listen to online radio from it. Or, if you like, you can play your favorite music from an USB stick or SD card. You can even play games from the frame. You can also receive and play videos from your mobile device or computer on your frame and you can set reminders and alerts, so that you won’t miss important meetings, birthdays and so on.
The frame has an auto-power feature that can turn the display on and off, depending on your settings. You can program it when to go to sleep or when to turn on.
As for the way it displays your photos, there are countless options: you can sort them alphabetically, by date, random, choose to be displayed one at a time or in collage, you can choose between the available transitions and much more.
All in all, the Pix-Star FotoConnect is more than just a digital picture frame, it works almost like a tablet or an organizer. It has a lot of cool features and it gives you various customization options.
