PROS:
CONS:
The Aura 9.7” digital photo frame is the most elegant and attractive frame we’ve seen so far. It is so beautiful that it even looks good by itself, with no photos displayed on it. Everything about it is premium, from the design and finish to features and capabilities. It comes with WiFi connectivity, unlimited storage, plenty of filters, sensors and smart features. The only drawback of this gadget is its steep price.
The Aura digital photo frame is developed by Pushd, an American company. Pushd is relatively young, it was founded in 2012 and it is headquartered in California. Another popular product from Pushd was the Steven mobile app, a location tracking software.
Aura is a premium WiFi digital frame in all aspects. It comes in a deluxe packaging, it has a stylish, sophisticated design, a great resolution and a lot of smart features.
Main specifications:
Requirements: iOS 9.1 or higher; Android 4.4 KitKat or higher; Bluetooth LE
You can get that high-end vibe of the frame by simply looking at the box in which the Aura frame comes. From design to features, this is without doubt a premium, complex digital photo frame.
It comes in 4 available colors: ivory bordered in rose gold trim, charcoal bordered in black metal trim, crystal blue with silver trim and a special limited Jonathan Adler cobalt frame edition with brass trim.
Aura has a slim, elegant design and it has the highest resolution we’ve seen so far in a digital photo frame: 1536 x 2048. It has an incredible image quality, the photos are sharp and vivid.
Another advantage of the Aura digital frame is the fact that it has unlimited storage and requires no subscription fees.
The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and setting it up is a breeze. You just enter the provided code, you create an account and start transferring your favorite photos to the frame. You can also invite others to send photos and participate to your albums.
Aura is an incredibly smart digital frame. It has a facial recognition feature that allows you to upload only photos with specific faces/people in them and a Smart Select. It has both a motion and light sensor that can be set to turn the display on only when you turn the light on into the room. It has a gesture control feature that allows you to swipe photos with a simple wave of hand (there is no touchscreen). Moreover, it also has a nudity filter that blocks photos with naked people and a filter for low quality images, blurry ones or duplicates. Through the app you can also set the frame to push photos automatically.
There’s really nothing to dislike about the Aura frame, aside maybe from it steep price of $300. But given the plethora of smart features included, the premium finish of the frame, the unlimited storage and the impressive resolution and image quality, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth with this hi-tech frame.
The Aura 9.7” digital frame can be purchased on Amazon or on the official auraframes.com website, for $299. In the box you get the frame, power adapter, a nail, cable tie, the stand and a wall hook. The frame comes with a 45 day ‘happiness guarantee’.
