F-Secure Internet Security suite comes with less features than most other top tier internet security suites. Even though it lacks some essentials like an integrated password manager or a file shredder, it compensates with the features it does have. F-Secure did great on all AV-Test evaluations and it proved to be a great protector of your PC.
Even though F-Secure came in last on our list of top ten internet security suites, it’s still a great software package. F-Secure Internet Security suite got great results on the AV-Test lab evaluation and showed to be a reliable protector of your data. Even though the selection of features it holds is small, F-Secure’s suite packs a punch.
Features
F-Secure Internet Security comes with an assortment of useful, intuitive features. If you spend a lot of time browsing the internet, the Secure Search check will make sure you never visit any suspicious sites. While you’re online, there’s always a chance you can somehow get stuck with various types of spam. F-Secure diligently scans your emails for any suspicious files and takes appropriate action. The network checker feature scans your home network in the background making sure there aren’t any vulnerabilities.
Once you install it, F-Secure adds an extension to your browser to secure your online transactions. F-Secure Internet Security also comes with a gaming mode that blocks pop-ups when it registers full screen programs like games or videos. To avoid unnecessary headaches while your kids roam the internet, the parental control feature allows you to completely limit their exposure to certain parts of the web. You can also limit the time they spend at the computer. Despite the password manager, PC optimizer and a rescue CD not being included in the suite, they can all be downloaded for free from the F-Secure website.
As with any big internet security name, F-Secure also has a premium software suite. The F-Secure SAFE comes with a few additional feature that add a new layer of protection. Like most other premier suites in the category, F-Secure also has a virtual keyboard feature that saves your physical keyboard entries from keylogger malware. It also allows you to make a backup of your data to a cloud, just in case you need to revive your system and restore files.

In 2016, F-Secure Internet Security was among the 22 best internet security suites. The tested software was evaluated in three areas: protection, usability and performance. With protection being one of the most important results since the tested software has to detect and protect from over 20,000 known and new threats, F-Secure got a perfect score. The usability test measures how many false positives the tested software makes while differentiating between 1.2 million good websites, with only three misidentifications, F-Secure got an above average score. The last test in the overall evaluation measures the amount of resources the antivirus software uses while it operates. F-Secure satisfied the industry standard scoring 5.5/6.
