It offers 24/7 monitoring, a fully automated home security system and a control panel that easily becomes a two-way intercom. Because the ADT site doesn’t clearly state the price of some services and equipment, it would be best to contact ADT and get a personalized quote fit specially for your needs. As far as home security monitoring systems go, ADT is reliable, affordable and very versatile.
ADT offers tech that is almost unmatched, easily going on a par with FrontPoint. They are very well stocked with the latest technology, but their customer service falls well behind some other systems’ we reviewed.

ADT is very well stocked on the latest advances in anti-home intrusion technology. All the latest sensors for doors and windows, motion sensors, alarms – they’ve got it all. They also operate on the cellular system, which means the system is connected wirelessly so you don’t have to worry about what happens during black-outs or power shortages. Despite the higher price tags, ADT is well worth investing in.
The package also includes, aside from cameras and sensors, carbon monoxide sensors, smoke detectors, and they even included medical pendants that react to a sudden worsening of your physical state and immediately alert the system to contact the nearest emergency service. This is greatly favorable for the elderly, people with disabilities and other persons who live alone but have medical conditions that can suddenly incapacitate them. Furthermore, they have an app that serves as a control hub for the entire system, allowing you to view cameras and receive alerts. ADT also features the Crash and Smash Technology. If we had to choose one thing that differentiates ADT from other home security monitoring systems, it would be their home automation. With a remote, you can pretty much control the entire house and the security system – doors alarms, gates, garage doors – all at a single press of a button on the controller.

While ADT comes a bit cheaper than some other home security monitoring systems we reviewed, they charge an installation fee that can be quite pricy. The price transparency also isn’t that great either since the website doesn’t clearly state exactly how much a certain product costs, but they rather advise you to consult an ADT customer rep for a personalized quote. The company offers a, more than generous, six months trial period after which you can either cancel your contract or sign up for the standard three year commitment. If you decide to end your contact ahead of the conclusion date you signed, ADT charges 75 percent of the total price. For added value, all equipment comes with a lifetime warranty.
Aside from the ADT Pulse system that fully automates your home security monitoring, ADT’s control panel installed in your home easily transforms into a two-way intercom. This feature is especially useful in instances where you can’t reach your phone due to the fact you’re incapacitated or because of a threat inside your house. Aside from the emergency aspect of this feature, the control panel-intercom can also be used to contact customer support when you’re having trouble turning off your alarm.
