COMPLETE REVIEW

iBaby Labs was founded in 2012 and it’s gained reputation through its high quality baby monitoring systems.

The iBaby M6S is one of the best-selling baby monitors on the market, thanks to its WiFi abilities and impressive, full HD video quality.

Here are the main specs of the iBaby M6S:

  • Dimensions: 6.5 x 6.5 x 6.5 inches
  • Weight: 1.5 lbs.
  • WiFi with dual band support (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz)
  • Full HD (1080p) video with night vision
  • 360 degree view and 110 degree tilt
  • Temperature, humidity and air quality sensors
  • Lullabies and voice record
  • Free app, compatible with iOS and Android

Design

The iBaby M6S has a really cute, design. The camera is white, chubby and looks like a snowman with a larger sphere shaped base that houses a motor and the speakers and a smaller ‘snowball’ on top of it. The motor allows you to tilt the camera to 110 degrees and rotate it to 360 degrees. There are a power jack and a USB port on the base and the air sensors, too. There are also holes for air cooling on the bottom of the base.

Features and performance

The M6S is extremely complex and gives you pretty much everything you were looking for in a baby monitor. The app is free and compatible with both iOS and Android smartphones and you’ve got dual band support, so the baby monitor works on the 2.4 GHz band and the 5 GHz as well.

Once you download the app and make an account, you plug in the camera and a USB cable (your smartphone’s cable) and allow WiFi sharing with your device. Once the camera is connected, you can remove the USB cable.

The app has a lot of features and settings you can play around with. In the app you can set sound and motion alerts and make the camera take snapshots or record video (15-second clips) when it detects any motion/noise. You can add additional cameras and give access to an unlimited number of users, although only 4 can access it at the same time, you can activate Sleep Mode, you can browse between the sound alerts (7 are available) and more.

In the app you can also see the temperature and humidity level in your baby’s room.

The video recordings and snapshots (which are sharp, have a crystal clear quality – full HD) are stored for free in your cloud account and are kept there until you reach 100 clips/snapshots. After you go over that number, they are overwritten with new items. However, you can always download them if you want to keep them forever. There is also night vision and you’ve got visibility up to 20 feet.

One other cool feature of the M6S is the fact that it comes with 10 lullabies to play for your baby. Moreover, you can also play music for your baby from your own music library on your smartphone or you can record your own voice. This is quite a unique and interesting feature in a baby monitor.

If you want to use the pan and tilt function of the M6S you simply swipe the screen of your smartphone.

There are really no flaws we can find in the iBaby M6S. iBaby is a reputable brand when it comes to baby monitors, and the M6S is among the most complex one we’ve seen so far. And even though it is not the most affordable out there, it is not among the most expensive either and you really get your money’s worth.

Pricing

The iBaby M6S goes for approximately $110 on Amazon.
