TurboFloorPlan Home & Landscape Pro has a unique set of features and it’s easy to use. It’s one of the most user-friendly home design software on the market, it allows complete beginners to easily grasp the basics of the app and design their dream home from scratch. For those with the know-how, TurboFloorPlan also has a set of advanced tools and features to help with the most demanding tasks.

The Basics

When we first tested the software, TurboFloorPlan Home & Landscape Pro proved to have a very clean design with everything clearly marked so there’s little room for confusion. When you first start the program, you’re given many help options to get you on your way until you’ve fully mastered the app. There are more than 45 sample floor plans you can choose from, or you can try making your own in the QuickStart menu that guides you through the process.

If you’ve chosen to go with the custom floor plan, once you start adding objects and rooms to it, the software will automatically generate a 3D model with your latest edits. TurboFloorPlan Home & Landscape Pro is suitable for home renovation since you can easily import a scan of your home plan and make changes to it in-app by dragging and dropping different objects you wish to add. The 3D design feature also has a wizard that lets you easily add the roof and adjust its pitch. The app allows you to create curved walls or add extra beams in the framing editor.

When you’re working on the 2D plan, you can access plumbing, electrical and other options from the tab at the top of your window. You can just as easily get rid of anything that you don’t want anymore. This software also includes a cost estimator feature that, together with other useful tools, lets you make a rough budget for your project. TurboFloorPlan Home & Landscape Pro lets you export your finished plan in DFX or DWG formats that are compatible with CAD.

Interior and Landscape Design

Aside from creating a precise layout of your home, TurboFloorPlan Home & Landscape Pro also lets you fill your new plan with more than 4,700 object like appliances, flooring, lighting, furniture and more. All of these items are highly customizable since you can choose the exact color, style and even size to fit your new home plan specifically. If you don’t want to go into too much detail, you can choose one of the template room set ups by easily dragging and dropping them into your empty space. The templates come in different styles and functionalities so you can choose to view your plan with a prefab kitchen, bedroom, study etc. These template design solutions are easily editable and are great if you’re stuck looking for the right design and need an idea to go on. You can also delete any unwanted content with just a few clicks. 

TurboFloorPlan Home & Landscape Pro also has an excellent outdoor and landscape design tool you can use to plan the space around your house. If you’re using the program for the first time, you can use one of the built-in templates to get a rough idea how your house’s surrounding will look. If you’re more design-savvy, you can make changes yourself by adding hills, trees, bushes etc. TurboFloorPlan Home & Landscape Pro has more than 3,800 different plants, trees, shrubs, flowers and other types of vegetation you choose to add to your yard, or garden. This part of the app comes with many other useful features that can help you choose the right plants for your landscape design. One of them is the Sun Global Positioning tool that lets you see the Sun’s angle and the exact position the shadows in your garden will fall. Although it might sound a bit too much at the moment, knowing where to plant which trees and flowers can mean a lot down the road when they grow. Having your flowers in a constant shade from that big leafy tree you planted won’t do much good for their development. Aside from shrubbery, you can add and fully customize pools, hot tubs, ponds and many more water options. You also have the opportunity to add a deck to your home with many customizable features. Most people prefer to have their property fenced off from the surrounding area, so you can use the fencing tool to design and customize your house’s perimeter.
