The Basics

This 3D home design software features the most template floor plans you can choose from when you first start the program. If you want to load a model plan you can search for your perfect setup among the 1,000 + sample plans this software has to offer. The plans are versatile in size and shape, including single as well as double-level designs. If you’re planning a smaller home, you can choose one of the hundreds of small home plans, or for a larger house a plan for houses bigger than 3,500 square feet. The app also lets you import any sketch or physical plan just by scanning them. After they’re imported, the app automatically creates a blueprint and you can begin working on them. Once you have your blueprint down, you can start adding objects to it. Total 3D Home Landscape and Deck Premium Suite has one of the largest objects library in our review. You can find hundreds of stoves, sofas, appliances, home entertainment systems and more. Any item you view in the objects library will be displayed in 2D, but if you want to take a closer look you can switch to 3D. This mode also allows you to add new and change existing objects. Although this feature is very convenient since it allows for an extra level of customization, it is fairly difficult to master and use.

Interior and Landscape Design

After the floor plan comes the design of each room individually. Probably the most difficult room to design is the kitchen since it requires a very intricate web of electric, lighting and plumbing web. But before you start connecting the power sockets, you should start with the fun part, adding different appliances and designing the look of your new kitchen. You can add cabinets, stoves, refrigerators, different appliances or sinks. The app allows you to fully customize each of these items by selecting the specific material, size, shape or style of each individual objects. The cabinet designer lets you create a uniquely colored cabinet with a shape and size that would fit your kitchen perfectly. Although it is a useful feature, like some other parts of this software, it has a learning curve that some users might find difficult to overcome.

Even though it has many amazing interior design qualities, Total 3D Home, Landscape and Deck Premium Suite is primarily a great landscape design app. Once you zoom out from your plan, you can use the software’s irrigation view that allows you to place pipes for your sprinklers or even trace the sewage system connected to your kitchen, bathroom or laundry room. If you’d like to plan a garden or design a more organized front yard by adding plants or different outdoor furniture, you can choose from Total 3D Home, Landscape and Deck Premium Suite’s 4,600 different vegetation items. To create different kinds of terrain, the landscaping tool lets you create ravines, hills, ponds etc. You can also design a swimming pool or a deck for your home.
