PROS:
CONS:
Although USAA is a widely recognized organization we have found Autopom! to have a better overall customer experience. To find out more about Autopom! click here. Beside it being a generally solid extended car warranty solution, USAA is definitely one of the best military-oriented car insurance companies on the market. It caters exclusively to military members and their families providing two simple, yet comprehensive packages. Alongside the standard features, USAA offers to pause your extended car warranty payment in case you get suddenly deployed. No other company we reviewed offered such an option. Additionally, both plans offer free roadside assistance and reimbursement for an unlimited number of days in case you need to hire a rental car while yours is being serviced.
USAA is well known for its exceptional services, extended car warranty being one of them. While this company exclusively serves military members and their families, we thought it was important to enlist them in our selection of the best extended car warranty providers since they offer an exemplary level of service. USAA offers nation-wide coverage and its plans cover your car adequately. It offers lengthy mileage and allows you to spread your payments over up to 18 months.
Coverage and Policy
Since we’re not military members, it was quite difficult to get a quote from USAA. The service gives you an option of choosing between two main coverage plans – the Manufacturer Wrap Protection and Comprehensive Protection. The Manufacturer Wrap Protection is primarily meant for those with more than 30 days or 1,000 miles left on their original warranty. USAA’s extended car warranty starts at the moment your original one ends. And while this plan doesn’t include insurance of your engine, drive axle and transmission assembly, it covers everything else the premium plan does. The Comprehensive protection plan is best suited for USAA members with cars no more than 10 years old, and with less than 115,000 miles on their meter. This policy covers your vehicle fully including the engine, drive axle and transmission assembly.
Both plans include free roadside assistance and the USAA offers full reimbursement for any rental costs up to $50 per day for as many days as your car is getting serviced. USAA is the only company in our review with an unlimited number of days for rental cars. Most other services will reimburse you $30 for up to five days. Since it is a military-oriented company, USAA has a Deployment Deferment option that lets you put your extended warranty on hold until you get back home. No other company in our review offers this commodity. Additionally, USAA lets you pay for your new policy over a period of 18 months with a 60-days money-back guarantee.

As with all other services in our review, we called USAA’s customer service with questions about payment, plans and general coverage. The customer support representative that spoke with us was very courteous and happy to answer all our questions. He didn’t try to push anything on us and after ending the call we were overall very satisfied with USAA’s customer support. In case you have any questions, you can reach a representative through email or phone, while the live-chat option wasn’t available at the time of our review. The USSAA website has a good FAQ section you can refer to if you have some general questions about their services.
