COMPLETE REVIEW

ASAP (American Standard Auto Protection) might not be the most recognizable extended car warranty provider on the market, but if you’re looking for a reliable company that will honor your contract to the fullest, you should check them out. ASAP is a full service extended car warranty provider meaning they will reimburse you for any rental costs while your car’s in the shop, they offer round the clock support, roadside help and many more conveniences so you never have to worry about your car breaking down again. The company is also among only a few we reviewed that offer great conditions for both older, higher mileage cars and new ones.

What it covers

ASAP offers a full extended warranty for your vehicle for up to 160,000 miles, up to six years. The allowed mileage is among the highest amongst its competition in our review. The company also covers the entire United States, as well as Canada. There are three major plans you can choose from, the basic Total Shield, median Total Care, and the most comprehensive of them all, the Total Performance. Like with most other companies, the more expensive the plan, the more you get.

Total Shield is the basic plan, and although it costs the least, it has decent coverage. With this package your warranty will cover your car’s most vital parts like the engine, brakes, transmission, drive axle, the cooling system and a few more less important parts. This is very convenient since engine repairs can be quite costly and time consuming. The Total Care offers a mix of both the basic and the most advanced packages. It covers all the elementary features plus a few more not so essential parts. The most comprehensive and expensive is the Total Performance. This plan covers almost all mechanical and electrical parts of your car including the engine, brakes, transmission, drive axle, heating systems as well as AC components, the suspension and more.

In case you have to make use of your extended car warranty, you’ll only be obligated to pay the $100 deductible. Although some companies require you to pay for the repairs and then be given back the amount, ASAP covers your bill fully without your involvement. The company will send the payment directly to the service, instead of you. Since ASAP understands how essential a car is to a person’s life, the company will reimburse you for up to $30 per day, for up to five days if you decide to hire a rental while you’re waiting for your car to get out of the shop.

Policy

ASAP is one of the most customer friendly extended car warranty providers. The company allows you to divide your full payment over the course of 36 months which is also the longest period any service in our review allowed. Not only is it the longest period, it’s also very rare since only one other company in our review offered the same conditions. ASAP also has a standard 30-day money-back guarantee, as most companies offer. This means you are free to try out the service for a month before signing a contract and committing to buy. The company also allows its customers to transfer the extended car warranty to a third person which can be very convenient if you decide to sell your car while it’s still valid. If you’re still in the process of paying for the warranty, you can as easily transfer the payments to the new owner as well.

Help/Support

Phone number: 1 (800) 644-2450

Website: www.asapwarranty.com

Support: www.asapwarranty.com/contact-us.html

Although some other extended car warranty services offered more customer support options (like live chat), ASAP still proved to have a decent support center. If at any point you need to contact a customer care representative, although you can’t use the live chat, you can call them or write them an email. The company also offers 24/7 full phone support for its policy owners. Although the phones are manned at all hours of day and night, when we called over the weekend to ask about prices and get a quote, we were politely directed to call back during office hours for sales-related questions. Their website also houses a solid FAQ section you can browse in case you have some minor questions about the more common issues users face.
