COMPLETE REVIEW

Krups is a household appliance company based in Germany. It was founded in 1846 and it first started manufacturing precision scales.

Krups is currently renowned for its high-quality coffee makers, fryers, toasters, grills and more.

The Fry Delight is a 2.5L low fat air fryer, which uses 3D air pulse technology to cook oil free, healthy and delicious food.

Here are the main specs of the AJ1000US air-fryer:

  • Dimensions (W X H X D): 13.5 x 18 x 14.5 inches
  • Weight: approx. 20 lbs.
  • Capacity: approx. 4 servings (2.5 L)
  • Power: 1.450W
  • Adjustable temperature (300 to 390 degrees F)
  • 30 min. timer
  • Cool touch
  • Dishwasher safe parts

Design

The Fry Delight has a bulky design. It is quite large and you also need to take into consideration the drawer when you calculate how much space you need for it on your counter. It has a plastic housing and the basket has a metal grate that lets grease drip down. All the parts of the Fry Delight are dishwasher safe and you can take out the basket by pushing a button.

The interface of the Krups Fry Delight is pretty simple. You’ve got a big rotating knob on the left (the timer), which lets you set the cooking time and it also has an orange LED that turns on and off during the cooking cycle. It corresponds to the heating element.

On the top you also have temperature and time settings for different categories of food you might want to cook. You’ve got indications for potatoes and fries, meat and poultry and snacks. For instance, if you want to make thin frozen fries, you should leave them between 12-16 minutes at 370 F, for a quantity of 0.66-1.54 lbs. You also have to shake them halfway.

How it works

The Fry Delight is really easy to use. You place the food into the basket, you choose the cooking temperature from the slider, then the cooking time by dialing in the knob and you’re all set to go.

When the food is ready you just take the drawer out using the handle and empty the basket.

The Fry Delight uses the 3D air pulse technology to cook your food and most dishes don’t require any oil to cook. Some might need just a few drops. Your food will maintain the outer crispness but still remain tender inside, and most importantly, it will be way healthier for you than deep fried food. The air fryer simply circulates the hot air around the food and cooks it faster than convection ovens. That means more efficiency, both in time and used energy.

The Fry Delight allows you to air fry, but also bake, roast and grill your food.

As we’ve already mentioned it, the Fry Delight is dishwasher safe. As a tip, you should dedicate more time to the metal grate, as it tends to gather food particles in and might be trickier to clean properly.

Frozen fries and regular fries are a real winner with the Fry Delight, so if you’re a nut for fries but want to cut down on oil, this air fryer is definitely worth a shot. You will most likely get better results with frozen foods and snacks though, as you have to be really careful how you cut your fresh, homemade ingredients and they somehow don’t taste as delicious in the end.

The price of the Fry Delight is reasonable, under $100, and while your food won’t taste exactly as the old-fashioned deep fried one, it gets as close as possible, while helping you stay healthier. Aside from the fact that it is quite large and takes up a lot of counter space, the Fry Delight is a good investment and a nice addition to any kitchen.

Pricing

On Amazon the Fry Delight goes for $90, with free shipping included.
