eScan is a reliable protection software for computers running Windows OS. It has real-time protection and effectively blocks malware from entering your system. There are many useful features to help you go about your work undisturbed. The program is intuitive and requires very little of your attention to run effectively. COMPLETE REVIEW

eScan was developed by MicroWorld Technologies, a software company located in Mumbai, India. Even though eScan is relatively new on the wider antivirus market, thanks to its reliable performance it has become the online security choice for many users. It offers many useful features together with an excellent antivirus program. eScan will do a great job protecting you from most online threats like malware, rootkits, spyware, Trojans etc. In the majority of tests run by the independent lab AV-Test, eScan managed to protect against malware and had only minor mistakes in differentiating good files for threats. Despite these results, during scans, eScan slowed down the host PC more than allowed by the industry standards for Windows 10 antivirus software.

Features

As an alternative to the well-known Windows firewall, eScan uses its own monitoring system to track incoming and outgoing files as well as to defend from hacker attacks. To further secure your online presence, eScan uses its monitoring feature to scan your email inbox and outbox for any files that might pose a threat. If it does encounter a threat it moves it to the quarantine for further analysis. eScan offers most features as any other top tier antivirus product on the market. An antiphishing tool is there to alert you when you are about to be tricked by a known - false website or email. It has a gamer mode that allows you to watch movies and play video games undisturbed by blocking any unwanted pop-ups. If you want to make a backup of your system in case worse comes to worst, eScan lets you create a rescue CD to restore your system after a crash.

Performance

Run on Windows 10, eScan managed to rise up to the industry average and join the likes of Kaspersky, ESET and Norton. It did well in differentiating between good and bad files with only a few false positives. During the performance test, it slowed down its host computer by a considerable amount so it got poorer grades in that area. When eScan was tested earlier in 2016 on Windows 8 computers, it scored almost the same in performance and usability as it did when it was tested on the newest version of its OS. Older versions of Windows 7, Vista and XP were also considered, and eScan did well on Windows 7 run PCs while using a reasonable amount of the host computer resources. On Windows Vista and XP, the antivirus software didn’t do so well, it showed poor performance and usability scores and it didn’t effectively protect against malware threats.
