The Dorcy 41-1017 is a very cute looking, colorful and popular mini LED lantern. It is very affordable, easy to use and one of the lightest camping lanterns on the market. It is extremely easy to carry around and figure out, which makes it a perfect choice not only for camping or other outdoor activities, but also for your household. The only downside to this mini lantern would be its durability. Dorcy 41-1017 is made of plastic and it is quite easy to break. Its handle in particular is very fragile.
The Dorcy 41-1017 LED camping lantern was developed by Dorcy, an American company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. The company has been on the market for over 55 years and currently expanded all around the Globe: Canada, Switzerland, China, Australia. Dorcy manufactures and commercializes lighting products for various purposes: sports, industrial application, emergency lighting and more.
Dorcy 41-1017 is a LED camping lantern powered by four AA batteries. Its main characteristic is its light weight and portability. It is one of the most light weighted, easy to pack camping lanterns you can find. It is made of plastic, has a bulk weight of only 0.43 pounds and it’s a 5X7 inches miniature lighting device. The fact that it’s so light makes it a perfect choice for outdoor activities, because it is very easy to carry around. It is funny looking and comes in a wide range of colors (purple, yellow, green, blue) and with a built in hanging hook. The handle also comes with a clip in case you want to clip the lantern to something.
It doesn’t provide the brightest light, but its 40 lumens are plenty sufficient to light your camping area on a 15 feet diameter. You can also easily light up a bedroom with it and it is a valuable addition to any home, for general purposes or for your emergency kit. Batteries can last up to 70 hours of use and the best thing? It is one of the most affordable and best-selling mini camping lanterns on the market, with a price of just $10.
On the downside, the lantern is not the most solid one out there, especially given the materials used (it is mostly plastic), but considering its price, you’ll get your money’s worth and unless you hit it with a hammer, it’s durable enough. The most fragile part on it proves to be the handle, as it is easily breakable.
