The Sharp ZR651ZS is a sturdy, yet stylishly looking microwave. It is large enough to cook a turkey in it, it is very powerful and precise in its cooking and it includes a lot of useful features.
Sharp is a renowned Japanese corporation that specializes in electronics. The company was founded in 1921 in Tokyo and it is currently owned by Foxconn Group. They manufacture microwaves since 1979 and so far, they’ve sold over 130 million units worldwide.
The ZR651ZS microwave is a countertop model equipped with the Carousel turntable system, invented by Sharp. The microwave comes in three available colors: black, white and stainless steel. The latter is a bit more expensive.

This Sharp microwave has a black with stainless steel trim door and a scratch resistant glass. It has a modern, high-end look. It is solid yet elegant. It is a large microwave, suited for family use, thanks to its generous 2.2 cu. ft. capacity. While that is mainly a good thing, you have to consider your kitchen’s dimensions before buying the 651ZS, since it is pretty huge and heavy and won’t fit just anywhere.

The Sharp ZR651ZS microwave doesn’t have a grill, but other than that, it is loaded with the most important features you need. The multi-stage cooking, the precise cook sensors and the 16” Carousel turntable ensure your food is evenly cooked, along with the wattage of the microwave, which is also impressive: this is a powerful microwave that has 1200W and 10 power levels.
Once your food is ready, a beeping alarm will alert you 3 times and then the sound will repeat at regular intervals until you open the microwave and get the food out. One thing we noticed when testing the Sharp microwave was the noise it made when turned on. It is a bit louder than the average, but that of course, shouldn’t be a deal breaker. The reminder beeps for when your food is ready are also loud enough to be heard over other noises and they might be a bit irritating as they won’t leave you alone until you open the door of the microwave or you press the cancel option. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable the reminder beeps.
Overall, we find the Sharp ZR651ZS microwave to be spacious, stylish and durable. As long as you don’t mind the heavy weight and its large size, this is a great value for the money.
