The Samsung MG14H3020CM is one of the most popular and best-selling countertop microwaves from Samsung.

It looks very futuristic and elegant, a bit asymmetric, it has a grill and a ceramic enamel interior. It comes in a black mirror finish which conveys a stylish look.

This Samsung microwave has a premium design that is also very sleek. The ceramic enamel interior is scratch and stain resistant. The entire microwave is very easy to clean. The PowerGrill function is a very useful feature that gives you the flexibility to cook a wide palette of foods, from bacon to fish, bread and much more. You can obtain a juicy inside and a tasty, crispy outside for all your favorite foods.

The LED display in ice blue is very easy to read and it is also eco-friendly. The microwave has a feature that turns the display off when the microwave is not in use.  

One note on the appearance of the microwave: as cool as the shiny mirror design is, it will make it impossible for you to see what’s happening inside the microwave, which might be annoying for some.

This Samsung microwave uses a triple distribution system, meaning there are 3 distribution points that ensure your meals will be cooked thoroughly.

There are presets for auto reheat, auto defrost, grill, combi, soften/melt, kids meals, popcorn, pizza, potato, veggies, cook and snacks.

There are 10 power levels, a clock and a timer function and our favorite, a Sound control that allows you to enable or disable the sounds of the microwave. This is a cool, useful feature that is hard to find in most microwaves. That beeping sound microwaves make when food is ready can get pretty annoying and it is very nice to have the option to turn them off.

When it comes to the actual performance of the Samsung, we have to admit that it looks better than it works. The 950W are not that powerful so there will be times when your food will require additional time to be thoroughly cooked. For instance, when we tried to bake a potato with the adequate setting, the center of it remained raw after the time expired.

This is definitely not among the fastest or greatest microwaves on the market, but it has its strengths, too. It does a beautiful job with popcorn for instance, popping all the kernels without burning any. We were also impressed by the way the auto reheat function works and how the microwave deals with veggies.

A drawback of the microwave, related to the ’30 seconds’ button is the fact that it doesn’t work by just pressing it, you also have to hit ‘Start’ after, or the microwave won’t start. It is not a deal breaker, but it is annoying, as sometimes you might forget and wonder why your food isn’t ready yet.

All in all though, the Samsung MG14H3020CM is a competitive product: it looks really good, it is easy to clean and maintain and the grill function gives you plenty of cooking possibilities.
