COMPLETE REVIEW

Samsung has several ‘winners’ on the market when it comes to countertop microwaves and the MS11K3000AS is definitely one of them. It has a modern, attractive design, sensor cooking, a coking power of 1000W and several useful features. Moreover, it is decently priced.

Here are the main specs of the MS11K3000AS:

  • Capacity: 1.1 cu. ft.
  • Dimensions (H X W X D): 11 7/10 x 20 2/5 x 16 9/10
  • Weight: 31.9 lbs.
  • Power: 1000W
  • Glass turntable (12 13/25”)
  • Cooking presets
  • Child lock
  • Eco Mode
  • Sensor cooking

Design

The MS11K3000AS has a beautiful and modern design. It is black with a silver sand finish, it has a glass turntable and a ceramic enamel interior. The ceramic interior makes it super easy for you to wipe up any mess inside, in case you’ve got something that ‘pops’ in there. It is also scratch resistant. The MS11K3000AS looks simple yet classy. The control panel features a bright, Ice Blue LCD display and you’ve got both buttons for the presets and the main dial.

At 1.1 cu. ft., you can say the MS11K3000AS is a bit below the average of approx. 1.3 cu. ft., when it comes to capacity. But it is large enough so you can use it for mostly any purpose and the good news is that it is also compact and doesn’t take up so much space on your kitchen counter.

The MS11K3000AS has a big dial knob on the front/bottom, which you can turn up and the microwave will go in increments of 30 seconds. Once you turn and then push in the dial to start the cooking process, you can also adjust the time by 10 seconds, down or up, depending on your needs.

The Ice Blue display also shows the clock and there is a dedicated clock button so you can set the time. There are also a Start and a Stop/Eco button below the turn dial, a Clock button, a Select button and above those you’ve got the buttons for presets and other functions: Popcorn, Healthy cooking, defrost, soften/melt, microwave, a Child Lock button, Deodorization and a Sensor button.

Features

One of the strengths of the MS11K3000AS is its cooking sensor which helps you cook any type of food just the way it has to, regardless if it is soup, leftover Chinese or pizza, a bagel and so on.

The Sensor feature on the MS11K3000AS is really easy to use. You put in the food you want, press the Sensor button and then use the dial knob to select the number corresponding to the food you’ve placed inside. You can find out the numbers and see the instructions for each type of food in the User Manual. After you’ve selected the proper number, you just press Start and that’s it.

The oven uses 3 heating points which means your food will be cooked evenly, because the heat will be distributed all over.

Unlike other microwaves, the MS11K3000AS doesn’t have any light inside so you can’t really see your food cooking, although this shouldn’t be a deal breaker. There is a dim light but only works when the door is open.

The microwave has a button that lets you add or subtract time while your food is cooking, it has an Eco Mode, which turns off the display when you are not using the appliance, thus saving energy.

One other useful feature is the “+30 seconds”, which is pretty self-explanatory, it lets you add 30 more second to your cooking program. The Defrost function works really well and there is also a Child Lock button, if you don’t want your little ones to start messing with the microwave. Once you press it, all the buttons will be disabled.

All in all, the Samsung MS11K3000AS is a good microwave. It might not be the fastest or the largest one out there, but it does have some really useful smart features, it looks really good in any kitchen and it won’t break the bank either.
