PROS:
CONS:
The Cuisinart Extreme Brew DCC-2650 is a great coffee maker you can program to wake you up in the morning with a fresh cup of joe still on the drip. It comes with an abundance of features and it has a competitive price.
At the very top of our review is the Cuisinart Extreme Brew DCC-2650 because it’s easy to use and it was manufactured to perfection. It was designed to make the perfect cup every time you crave one. This coffee machine is fast and reliable and with so many innovations – one of the best on the market.
One of the things that sets The Cuisinart Extreme Brew DCC-2650 apart from its competition is that it is very fast. It’s much faster than most other similar appliances in our review. The Extreme Brew in this Cuisinart coffee maker stands for the exclusive feature that speeds up the brewing process by 25 percent. It also comes with a built-in timer so that you can wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Setting the timer is as easy as doing it on your phone and it can be done in seconds. When it comes to timer utilities, this coffee maker features the Brew Pause option that allows you to sneak a cup before the brewing process is fully finished.
The Cuisinart Extreme Brew DCC-2650 is a 12-cup coffee maker. It provides 60 ounces of coffee in one brew with each cup being 5 ounces. Nevertheless, more isn’t always better, and for smaller households or parties, you might want to make less than the maximum 12 cups. For example, if there’s only four people in your home, you’ll want to adjust the coffee maker to make no more than four cups so you can make sure you have the freshest coffee available. Sure, making a full 60-ounce batch is safer, in case you need more, but there’s nothing like fresh coffee. The Brew Strength Control feature lets you control the taste of your coffee by letting you choose between bold and regular. One of the biggest taste factors in a perfect cup of coffee is the water it’s made of. The DCC-2650 comes equipped with a charcoal and gold-tone filters to remove any added chemicals from the water you are about to brew.
In case you made one too many cups and there’s still coffee sitting in the carafe, you can rest easy knowing that the Cuisinart Extreme Brew DCC-2650 will keep it as fresh and as warm as possible with its adjustable temperature controls that let you choose the hot plate’s settings. Depending on how you like your coffee, you can set the temperature to Low, Medium or High.
When it comes to the design, the Cuisinart Extreme Brew DCC-2650 comes looking rather plain featuring a metallic and black combination on the machine itself. It weighs just under 9 lbs. and it’s not much bigger than any other standard coffee maker. The DCC-2650 is equipped with a glass carafe set on a temperature controlled heating plate. It also comes with a permanent coffee filter, but you can always choose to use the one-time filters that make the whole brewing process less messy since you don’t have to clean the machine after each batch of coffee.
Ease of use
The Cuisinart Extreme Brew DCC-2650 is an innovative coffee maker that lets you program the exact time you’d like your coffee. You can set your machine up so that you come home every day to a freshly brewed pot, or you can program it so you wake up to that invigorating smell of fresh coffee every morning. The auto shut off feature is there to prevent over brewing. It also allows the machine to work with full autonomy, without you having to hover over it to turn it off after it’s done. The Cuisinart Extreme Brew DCC-2650 lets you know the job’s done by setting off a five-beep alert signal after which it turns off automatically. The timer can also be used to keep your coffee fresh for up to four hours while it’s sitting on the heating plate. As we mentioned before, the plate itself can be set to three settings – low, medium and high.
In case there’s a sudden loss of power in your home, or you’ve accidentally plugged out the cord, the DCC-2650 will retain the last known settings before it was disconnected. This means that the 60-second memory feature will make sure that your coffee maker picks up right where it left off when it was interrupted. This saves you the time and the effort of cleaning your coffee maker just to have to put another batch of coffee and water in in order to start a new brew.
Using the machine is pretty simple, but we’ve also looked at the cleaning process since this is the part most users dread. Unlike some other coffee makers in our review, the The Cuisinart Extreme Brew DCC-2650 features a cleaning alert once the calcium build-up in your machine reaches a certain level. The alert sets off a “clean” light that lets you know it’s time for a scrub. Although it might seem like a lot of work, cleaning your coffee maker is a rather clean job. All you have to do is fill the water container with a solution of water and white vinegar and press the “clean” button. Once the process is done, you will hear the familiar beeping sound. All that’s left to do is to run a “water brew” by filling the reservoir with fresh water and letting it run through a brew cycle to make sure there’s no residue vinegar in the water you’ll use for your coffee. Cleaning the charcoal filter is even easier since it only requires you to rinse it in fresh water for about 10 seconds and then let it dry. The company recommends you change your charcoal filter every 60 days, or after 60 cycles.
The Cuisinart Extreme Brew DCC-2650 is a great coffee maker by anyone’s standards. It’s made from top of the line materials and it comes with a glass carafe that protects you from any loose coffee drops with a dripless sprout. The DCC-2650 has a 24-hour programmability option you can use to set the exact time you want your home to start smelling of freshly brewed coffee. It can brew up to 12 cups, but it also has the option for smaller batches up to 4 cups. In case you’re too eager to wait for the whole batch to finish, you can just press the Brew Pause feature and sneak a cup while letting the coffeemaker pick up where it left off. With so many innovative features and great customer support, The Cuisinart Extreme Brew DCC-2650 is one of the best coffee makers on the market.
