Bonavita BV1900TS is a reliable, classy coffee brewer with only the essentials for making absolutely amazing coffee. It’s very practical, and its multifunctional design allows you to start brewing in a press of a button. This coffee machine is one of the best on the market, and it deserved to be on the very top of our review, because of its speed and efficiency.

Bonavita BV1900TS is as amazing as it is unique. Its special build allows it to produce more flavorful beverages. When it comes to coffee makers, design really does make a huge difference. Not so much the aesthetics of, but the actual build of the appliance. Bonavita has an unusually big showerhead part which is responsible for distributing water over coffee grounds. The fact that it’s larger - i.e. wider, means it sprays the freshly ground coffee with an even spray of water, making sure every part of the container holding the coffee receives the same amount of water, thus insuring better taste. Traditional coffee makers usually have much narrower showerheads resulting in a more-less centered water stream. Once the water reaches the filter, with Bonavita, it spreads evenly over it since it’s flat, rather than pouring on the sides with the more traditional pointed versions. Having a flat filter allows the water to seep in deeper into more coffee grounds and properly saturate them. 

And while its interior design is innovative and very practical, the external unit seems rather plain. It’s made of a combination of black plastic, PBA free Polycarbonate for the water chamber and stainless-steel for the coffee dispenser. And while the basic version comes with a stainless-steel carafe, you can buy a double walled glass version on the Bonavita site. The glass carafe is convenient since it can be easily cleaned in the dish washer, while the steel container requires more maintenance. Since it’s double walled it holds the temperature for as long as the stainless-steel vessel. In case this color scheme doesn’t work for your kitchen, you can order the appliance in white for a few more dollars.

Bonavita BV1900TS is made from the best materials in order to ensure absolute customer satisfaction. And while it’s not the most compact coffee machine out there, the Bonavita BV1900TS falls among the smaller coffee makers making it suitable for kitchens with less counter space.

Although it includes many innovations on the inside, on the outside this coffee maker doesn’t have much to offer when it comes to automatization. And while the Bonavita BV1900TS is one of the fastest coffee makers on the market brewing 8 cups in under five minutes, it doesn’t have the option of a scheduled start, meaning you’ll have to press the button in the morning if you want your coffee. It also won’t let you grab a “cuppa” while it’s brewing, but since it finishes in less than five minutes, that shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

The Bonavita BV1900TS carries a proud recommendation as a high quality, reliable coffee maker by the SCAA (Specialty Coffee Association of America). Since not many coffee machines on the market carry this title, this means that the BV1900TS has undergone rigorous testing by professional taste-testers and has satisfied dozens of quality requirements in order to find itself in this prestigious company. This quality certificate also means a lot when you consider the machine is assembled in China. The SCAA certification ensures it’s up to the latest quality codes and standards in the US.

Ease of use

Bonavita owes its simplicity to its practical and overall plain design. Since it doesn’t have any superfluous functions, all you need to do for a perfect cup of coffee is pour the water, add the coffee and press the button. In less than five minutes you’ll have a full 8-cup carafe of perfectly brewed coffee. As we've already mentioned above, this simplicity is owed to the fact that this particular coffee maker doesn’t have too many additional options aside from traditional brewing. This means you won’t be able to program it to wake you up in the morning. And while it lacks this function, the Bonavita BV1900TS does have an auto-off feature that prevents overbrewing.

The manufacturer recommends you thoroughly descale your new coffee maker once every three months, or after every 100 brew-cycles. And while it’s recommended you use the Full Circle descaling powder, you can use other similar products to, as long as you follow the instructions closely.

Bonavita BV1900TS is one of the best coffee makers on the market. While you might not wake up to a “fresh cup of joe” waiting for you freshly brewed, this coffee maker will make up for it with the exquisite taste and quality. It has several innovations for a better brewing process and overall superior quality. The BV1900TS is compact and simple to use, and in its price range is an absolute steal.
