With a reasonable price for its simple but beneficial features, the Smart 1500 rechargeable electric toothbrush is surely a great buy if you want to experience superior oral health care. It has three cleaning modes that you will need, a built-in pressure sensor that warns once you overbrushed and a built-in timer to make sure your teeth are well-cleaned. The only problem you will deal with are missing cleaning mode buttons and grip; other than that, you are good to go.

Overall we found that this model was better than the
Sonicare ProtectiveClean 5100 and the Sonicare ProtectiveClean 6100 due to the features being very similiar but the price being much lower on this unit.

Look/Toothbrush at a glance

Upon opening the box you will get the Smart 1500 rechargeable electric toothbrush, a CrossAction brush head, a charging stand, and documentation.

Looking at the toothbrush right away you can see that it is a straight forward design that doesn't have a lot of fancy stylings. However when you put it in your hand you will notice that it’s very comfortable to the hand. The only drawback that we found was that there was no grip on the brush handle, which may slip while you are brushing. It would also be best if Oral-B included cleaning mode buttons for Smart 1500, but at this price point we know that we can live without the different cleaning options.

Another thing worth noting here is the word “Smart” from Smart 1500, which is not justified. We expected Bluetooth connectivity into the official Oral-B app, but that is not a thing on Smart 1500. So, in todays world where Smart is usually associated with Artificial Intelligence or a Smart Phone app we found that it could be a bit misleading.

Brand Quality

If there is one thing Smart 1500 can show off to their customers, it is the simplicity and straightforwardness of this electric toothbrush. It has all the basic features you will need for regular oral health care without the extra features. Oral B has continued to be one of the most well known names in this niche for many years, so you can count on great products and product support.

Overall Amazon Reviews

Oral-B Smart 1500 enjoys its good reputation on Amazon for having 4.7 stars out of 5 from 4,150+ customers. This is a good sign that the electric toothbrush is exceptionally reliable. However, let us take a deeper look into the negative customer reviews of this product.

The  Oral-B Smart 1500 is listed on Amazon, which is where we found the best price and availability. The price varies from day to day so you can expect to pay between $62-$69.99

Smart 1500 CrossAction Toothbrush

  • White- $62.99

With 3 Replacement Brush Heads

  • $87.98

Gum and Sensitive Care Toothbrush

  • $99.94

Do note that other variants offer other colors such as Jet WhiteNavyLight Rose, and Black. If you think White is too plain for you, you can always switch to other Oral-B 1500 options. There are no technical differences between the versions, so you do not have to worry about the performance.

Just like many electric toothbrushes in the market, Oral-B Smart 1500 depends on a Lithium-Ion battery to work, good for 14 days if one person cleans twice every day. Once the battery is low, it will flash a red LED light. When you plug in the designated charger, the red LED will turn green as a sign that Smart 1500 is successfully charging. It will take you 12 hours to replenish the battery, but do not worry, you can always leave it on the charging station, and we promise that it will not break.

Three Unique Cleaning Modes

For starters, the Daily Clean will always be present on the cleaning modes list in every Oral-B toothbrush. But in Smart 1500, there are more to choose from, including Daily Clean, Sensitive Care, and Whitening.

Not familiar with the terms? We got your back.

  • Daily Clean

The Daily Clean is your default cleaning mode once you buy an electric toothbrush from Oral-B. A 2-minute timer has been set for this brushing mode, good for removing dirt and plaque efficiently.

  • Sensitive Care

If you think that this cleaning mode is made special for people with sensitive and inflamed gums and teeth, you got it right. This cleaning mode has reduced Oral-B 3D movement to achieve proper cleaning with comfort.

  • Whitening

The whitening mode is prevalent to people who want a whiter smile. This cleaning mode typically lasts for two minutes dedicated to normal cleaning and 20 seconds for front teeth.

  • Built-in Timer with QuadPacer

With Smart 1500’s timer with QuadPacer, you’ll get to thoroughly clean all four sections of your mouth within two minutes.

  • Pressure Sensor

A pressure sensor is one of Oral-B’s great features that essentially warns you if you overbrushed to avoid further teeth damage.

  • 12-Day Battery Life

The compelling Smart 1500 is powered by a Lithium-Ion battery that has earned a great reputation in the world of electronic devices. Once in a fully charged state, you could enjoy next-level oral health care for 12 days – that is, if you brush twice every day.

Unique Features

  • Brush Head Compatibility

The brush head included in your package once you purchased the Smart 1500 is good for three months. After that, you will have to get a new one. Although a CrossAction brush head is already equipped, you can actually use other brush heads, such as FlossAction, Precision Clean, Sensitive Gum Care, Dual Clean, 3D White, and Deep Sweep. Unfamiliar with those terms? We’ll explain it in detail.

  • FlossAction

The FlossAction brush head has special bristles designed to loosen plaque for easier removal.

  • Precision Clean

According to Oral-B, the highly dependable Precision Clean brush head lets you clean 400% more dirt and plaque. If you are up for that, go with this type of brush head.

  • Sensitive Gum Care

Oral-B’s Sensitive Gum Care brush head goes well with the Sensitive Care mode, which has the same job: Delivering superior oral health care while taking care of your inflamed or sensitive teeth and gums.

  • Dual Clean

The Dual Clean is another brush head made by Oral-B. This brush head packs 2x cleaning power to remove more plaque than the regular one.

  • 3D White

If you want better, whiter teeth, you should use the 3D brush head. Partnered with Smart 1500’s Whitening cleaning mode, you’ll get the results you are looking for in no time.

  • Deep Sweep

Another great brush head alternative from Oral-B is the Deep Sweep. This brush head is designed to clean teeth surface, reach back teeth, and clean between them.

Oral-B is one of the most recognized comapnies in the electric toothbrush niche and their customer support is one of the reasons. They have mulitple channels that you can use to access agents that are ready to help you if any issues arise.
