COMPLETE REVIEW

FreedomVoice offers a virtual and a cloud-based system that are specifically meant for small businesses. Since it was specially optimized to fit best with smaller sized businesses, FreedomVoice doesn’t require any additional equipment or special training. The system is easy to use and has many useful features.

Performance and Features

FreedomVoice is an excellent phone system solution for small businesses since it allows employers to choose between the traditional desktop phone option, and a more modern virtual system that works with mobile devices.

The cloud-hosted version of FreedomVoice’s system is called CloudPhone and it works as a fully remote phone system. Since it’s not based in your business, CloudPhone doesn’t require any special equipment or installation. If you decide on this option, you’ll have to make sure you have a fast internet connection and you’ll have to acquire IP phones which come preset to FreedomVoice’s settings, and after they’ve been activated online, the phones are ready to be used. This cloud-based system is meant for very small businesses since it supports a maximum of four employees. If at any point your company expands over that number, you can easily switch to CloudPBX phone system which supports a larger number of users. Although you can’t buy it directly, any authorized reseller will be able to give you any information you need and offer you a personalized quote on the price. Even though CloudPhone only support a few employees, it’s considered a top tier phone system because it allows its users access to almost all features larger phone systems do. You can make unlimited calls, set up an automated attendant to take your calls, designate a specific tune you wish to play as on-hold music, use voicemail or voicemail-to-email services etc. Each of the four lines are assigned an extension, as well as a direct number so any employee can be reached directly, or transferred from or by calling the main business’s number. FreedomVoice also has an app you can install on any iOS or Android device and then use it as your virtual phone with all the benefits of your business line. CloudPhone is a very reliable remote phone system because it’s almost never down. Freedomvoice achieves this enviable position by maintaining five auxiliary data centers. This means that in an event that a data center becomes incapacitated due to maintenance or any unforeseen circumstance, another becomes fully active without any of the users noticing the change.

FreedomVoice also has a virtual phone system called CloudNumber that works with mobile, or home phones. This service forwards calls made to your business line directly to your home, or mobile numbers. Every employees gets to designate which phones they’d like to be reached on, and once they’ve been logged into the system, they are ready to receive calls. CloudNumber is very convenient for small businesses since it allows them to have a professional business phone system without having to invest in often expensive phone equipment. Since it doesn’t require any special installation, the system can be operational in a matter of minutes. Once you make the purchase, you’re given a choice of a local toll-free number and then you can proceed with the guided setup. Aside from choosing a new number, you are left with the option of transferring your old number into your new phone system service. Once you start the setup process, you’ll be asked to create an automated attendant message. Although it might seem trivial, this feature is extremely important since it’s the first contact a customer has with your company. Like many other virtual systems, CloudNumber allows the employers to configure how they want to be reached, and in which order should their numbers ring, if they have logged more than one. This system also supports an unlimited number of lines which means customers will never hear a busy tone, even if there are several people calling at that moment. Much like the more traditional CloudPhone system, CloudNumber has many features like call forwarding, voicemail, on-hold music, call queuing, online faxing and more.

Features:

  • Local and Toll Free Numbers
  • Automated Attendant
  • Company Directory
  • Dial-By-Name
  • Ring Groups
  • Call Queue
  • Custom Hold Music
  • Call Hold
  • Call Transfer
  • Secure Voicemail
  • Mobile app
Pricing

Although most companies offering two different systems have different payment methods, FreedomVoice charges a monthly fee for both of its services. The CloudPhone will set you back $29.95/month, but you will get unlimited calls, basic phone equipment and almost every feature in offer. If you want to upgrade the equipment to get better phones, it will cost you another $5-$10 monthly. Unlike with many other phone system providers we looked at, FreedomVoice has very few additional costs you’ll have to look out for. One of them is for a professional to record your automated message, and there are a few more costs if you wish to have your calls recorded or your voicemail transcribed.

The virtual CloudNumber system is offered in three plans priced by the number of included minutes. The most basic, Start plan cost $9.95/month and  it comes with 400 minutes included, the median Edge plan has 1,200 minutes and it costs $19.95/month, while the largest package is the Suite plan that goes for $29.95 and it includes 3,000 minutes. If you go over the plan you purchased, every minute is charger 3.9 cents.

Performance

FreedomVoice has one of the best downtime records in our review. It is very reliable and easy to use by everyone. You can choose between a cloud-based, or a virtual system, both of which come with a set of features included in the monthly cost.

In order to test each company’s customer service, we posed as a fictional small business owner and asked different questions about the plans and features.

When we called FreedomVoice, our call was answered by a friendly, informative attendant who was more than happy to help with any questions we had. Unlike many other similar calls we made, this representative seemed more interested in simply answering our questions straightforward, rather than collecting information about our business. This helped us better understand what each plan entails, how much it costs, and which features would be best for our particular case.

If, after purchasing the system, you need assistance, you can reach FreedomVoice’s customer care by phone/email Monday through Saturday during business hours. For emergency issues, there is a 24/7 line you can contact. FreedomVoice also hosts an online community where you can ask questions or discuss any topic regarding your new phone system with other users.
