COMPLETE REVIEW

RingCentral Professional is one of the best phone systems for small businesses. It has many useful features, it’s very easy to use and it offers competitive pricing. The system is fully virtual and best suits businesses with many remote positions since it works with mobile devices as business phones.

Features

Although a virtual phone system, RingCentral Professional is actually a sophisticated call-forwarding service that comes with many useful tools and features your employees have access to. When a customer calls your business and enters an extension number, the automated attendant automatically transfers the call to the requested employee’s designated phone. The users can assign their mobile or home phones as their primary business lines. This takes a lot of load off your company’s budget, since there’s no need for expensive phones, installation or maintenance fees. Once you purchase the system, the whole setup process last only minutes. Employees can designate up to ten different phones their calls can be forwarded to. Some additional customization options allow the users to set in which order they want the phones to ring and for how long. RingCentral Professional offers all the features we found in other similar systems like voicemail, online faxing, automated attendant, call reports and more. The employers can control the system from the main web interface on RingCentral’s web page.

Aside from the more mobile virtual phone system, RingCentral also has a traditional phone system that best suits very small businesses. RingCentral Office is a cloud-based phone system that doesn’t require any additional equipment or installation, and the maintenance is fully done by the company. All that’s required from your business is to provide a high-speed bandwidth in order to ensure high call quality, and set it up to prioritize voice calls. After you’ve activated the system, all you need to do is plug the IP phones into the Ethernet ports and your new phone system is set. Although most companies that offer dual-system options, aim on having the same features available to both users, RingCentral offers significantly more features and tolls with its traditional VoIP cloud-based service. With RingCentral Office you can record calls, use the intercom, receive different analytic reports, make videoconferencing calls, set-up online meetings and more.

RingCentral also has a mobile app that can be download and installed on any Android or iOS device. Once they’ve downloaded the app, the users can then use their mobile devices as their business phones together with many features available like sending and receiving faxes, making conference calls, using voicemail and more.

Features:

  • Cloud PBX
  • Auto-Receptionist
  • Call Forwarding
  • Call Recording
  • Toll Free Number
  • Online Meetings
  • Video Conferencing
  • Audio Conferencing
  • Business SMS

Overall RingCentral is by far the best VOIP service provider we have reviewed and give our top ranking spot to their company.

Pricing

One of several things that make RingCentral so appealing to potential buyers is their complete price transparency. All prices for both the virtual and traditional systems are clearly marked on their website with little room for confusion.

The virtual, RingCentral Professional system comes in three plans: Pro, ProPlus and ProPower. They differ in price, number of available features, minutes and extensions. The Pro plan comes with 300 long-distance or local minutes and two extensions and it costs $12.99 per month if you sign a contract for at least a year, or $22.99 if you don’t want to tie yourself down with a yearly commitment. The ProPlus plan gives you 1000 minutes, four extensions and it will cost you $19.99 per month with a contract, and $29.99 per month without the contact. The most expensive ProPower option comes with 2000 available calling minutes, 1000 toll-free minutes and ten extensions at $24.99 per month with a contract, and $39.99 without it. The only additional cost you see on your bill can happen if you want an extra number, extension or a vanity number. The RingCentral Office also comes in three plans differing in price, number of minutes and included features. You can reduce the price of each plan if you include more users or if you commit to a year.

Performance

RingCentral is a great choice as a phone system for small businesses. The customers can choose between a virtual and a traditional system both with their own set of features. There are three service plans with both options.

We had an overall good experience when we contacted the RingCentral support line posing a small business owner. The representative that took our call was polite and very informed on any question we had. He took a moment to ask about our company in order to get a better picture of what kind of service we would need. After he answered several of our questions regarding pricing, features and different plans, we ended the call with a feeling we knew enough to make an informed decision on our new phones system.

You can reach RingCentral’s support by phone on workdays during business hours, or you can use the 24/7 line RingCentral has set-up for businesses with more than two users. Their website is also a treasure trove of useful information containing tutorials, FAQs, user guides and more.
