SUMMARY:

OneUp is quite a strange accounting program, full of extremes. While it is really affordable if you sign up for the lower tiers, their higher tier is one of the most expensive on the market. The program has some impressively complex features, like inventory management and CRM, yet it lacks other common ones: payroll add-on, recurring bills, automated payment reminders. It has very good mobile apps and as an overall conclusion, it can be a valuable choice, depending on your business and accounting priorities.

COMPLETE REVIEW

The company that developed OneUp is based in San Francisco but has customers in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Their accounting software was initially created for Android mobile devices, but now works on desktop computers as well.

Over 700,000 users have downloaded the software so far. OneUp is best suited for small businesses, but not exclusively.

OneUp includes a free 30 days trial with all the features and unlimited users.

Each of their plans includes all the features, but the number of users differs from plan to plan.

Self – 1 user and no support

Pro – 2 users and one on one support

Plus – 3 users

Team – 7 users

Unlimited – unlimited users

Although the Self plan is one of the most affordable on the market, the Unlimited plan is really expensive, so there’s a huge discrepancy within their packages.

OneUp includes all the features you might need in a professional accounting software: invoicing and billing, accounts receivable and accounts payable, inventory management, customer management, payroll, bank feeds, multi-currency and more.

However, it does lack some others that are commonly found in most competitors: recurring bills and automated payment reminders.

The setup process requires you to answer a few questions related to your company. Based on your answers, the program will figure out what modules to include on your dashboard.

The available sections are in big letters: Sales, Projects, Expenses, Accounting, Inventory, Purchasing, Settings. When you click on one of them it opens a small dashboard with charts and graphs.

There are some limitations in terms of invoicing customization. There are 3 font sizes and 4 available fonts. The footer and header texts are also customizable.

You can add multiple items to your invoice, see and adjust the quantities for each item.

In terms of bank feeds, you should know that OneUp works with a lot of banks, even the more obscure ones, which is a good thing. Manual entry is also available, should you not find your desired bank on their long list.

Inventory management is one of OneUp’s biggest strengths. You get a lot of advanced tools and options, like product dimension and weight, stock location, the ability to automatically make a purchase order (with Automatic Inventory Ordering) when you stock drops below the minimum you set or to create multiple sales price lists based on different criteria and more.

Another special feature of OneUp is ‘Opportunities’, which lets you create quotes, document tasks and calls, track progress and others.

One big thumbs down is for the lack of a payroll add-on. Time-tracking is also not available.

Pricing

OneUP has 5 plans: Self, Pro, Plus, Team, Unlimited.

Self - $9/month

Pro - $19/month

Plus - $29/month

Team - $69/month

Unlimited - $169/month

Help/Support

OneUp includes customer support with all their plans except the Self one. The other plans benefit from one on one support.

You can contact them via live chat or e-mail, but there is no phone support.

Their Help Center is quite comprehensive though, with guides and FAQs for all the accounting related topics: purchasing-bills, expenses, account administration, inventory-stock and so on.
