Symantec acquired VeriSign in 2010 and today offers several types of SSL certificates. Symantec also owns GeoTrust and Thawte. The company has millions of customers worldwide.

All the Symantec certificates include daily malware scanning and the Norton Secured mark on the web.

Symantec offers OV and EV certificates.

OV certificates: Secure Site, Secure Site Pro and Secure Site Wildcard

EV: Secure Site with EV, Secure Site Pro with EV

Among the features included with all Symantec certificates we can mention the 30-days money back guarantee, universal browser compatibility, the NetSure Extended Warranty, daily malware scanning, 24/7 support via chat and email, an auto install tool and the Norton Secure Seal logo.

In addition to the features included with the OV certificates, the EV certificates also come with the green address bar and unlimited subdomains (for Secure Site Wildcard and the Complete Website Security).

The warranty value for OV certificates is $1,500,000 and $1,750,000 for EV certificates.

Issuance times vary from 1 to 10 days. Secure Site and Secure Site Pro certificates are issued in 5 business days, while the others may take longer to be processed.

In terms of security, all certificates use 256-bit encryption.
