GlobalSign is more of a high-end SSL provider, used by large business and big brands. That is why you can find in their client base names like Ford, BBC, Microsoft, Toyota, Netflix, Dell and many more. While it is not the cheapest option you can find, you do get what you paid for. The features included by GlobalSign will ensure your website is 100% protected.
GlobalSign is a Belgian company that was founded back in 1996. They describe themselves as an identity services company that provides cloud-based PKI solutions and they were also the first ones to offer IPv6 compliant revocation services.
GlobalSign boasts on issuing 2.5 million SSL certificates so far. Their client base includes names such as Ford, BBC, Microsoft, Toyota, Netflix, Dell, Volusion and many more.
In terms of SSL certificates, GlobalSign provides several options, from certificates for single websites, multiple websites or multiple subdomains. You can choose between 2048-bit OV, EV, Wildcard and multi-domain certificates and you can add up to 100 SANs.
GlobalSign is usually preferred by larger companies.

While DomainSSL certificates are issued within minutes, OV SSL may take from 1 to 5 days and EV SSL from 1 to 10 days.
GlobalSign certificates come with SHA-256 hashing algoritm, RSA 2048+ or ECC 256 (384 bit keys supported), site checker verification, unlimited server licensing, free unlimited reissues, a free certificate inventory tool and secure site seal. They also include daily malware scanning (they use StopTheHacker). All certificates are compatible with all Internet browsers as well as mobile devices.
In terms of warranties, GlobalSign includes a $1.25 million warranty with their OV SSL certificates and a $1.5 million warranty for the EV SSL certificates.
EV SSL certificates also benefit from Facebook protection and hourly scans.
The turnaround time varies from a few minutes (up to a day) for the entry-level certificates and up to 10 business days for EV SSL certificates. However, in our tests, Extended certificates were issued in maximum 5 business days.
