The Serta RTA Palisades sofa is a very popular sofa on a budget. It is versatile, durable, good looking and easy to assembly. It is not the most comfortable couch out there and there are some details that need some improvement, but for its price, it is definitely a good purchase.
The Serta Palisades sofa is among the most popular sofas on the market. It is manufactured under the Serta brand. Serta is an American company that specializes mostly in mattresses, for which it is one of the most renowned brands in the United States. It was founded in 1931 and since then, it’s grown in popularity, reputation and number of products.
The RTA Palisades Collection comes in three sizes: 61” (loveseat), 73” and 78”. There are other similar collections such as the upgraded Palisades II, Astoria and Copenhagen, which vary slightly just in terms of design.
The Palisades sofa is available in a wide variety of colors: Glacial Gray, Fawn, Chestnut Brown, Silica Sand, Flagstone Beige, Riverfront. You can also combine the Palisades sofa with the corresponding chair or loveseat.

The Serta Palisades sofa has a hardwood frame, pillowed back cushions and a polyester blend upholstery. It has individually wrapped coils (with high density memory foam) and premium sinuous coil. It comes with two throw pillows. It has 2 straight arms and 6 legs. The legs are a bit short, so you might feel the need to replace them. The corduroy fabric on top is easy to clean.
The Serta Palisades is a versatile sofa that fits well in different spaces, from apartments to dorms or offices. It has a casual, modern look and although it does require assembly, you don’t need any tools and it is very easy to put together. It is a half an hour job and you get instructions in the box to help you out.
The Serta RTA Palisades is mostly tailored for smaller spaces. The sofa comes in a box (which is quite heavy, to be honest), so cleverly packaged that you can’t even believe an entire sofa fit in it.
One bad thing we noticed about this sofa, as it is impossible not to, was a strong, funky, chemically smell, once we opened the box. But it does fade away in a couple of days, so it shouldn’t be a deal breaker.
Another thumbs down for this sofa would be the back cushions, which are a bit too overstuffed and uncomfortable. The back could have also been a bit taller and it’s a bit tricky to get the fabric on the back of the sofa to reach the bottom so that you can use the Velcro. It is doable, but it can prove to be quite a hassle.
The seat cushions are comfy enough and overall, the Serta sofa is a durable piece of furniture, easy to clean and maintain. It is not a high-end sofa and it does have its minor flaws, but for its price, you will get your money’s worth.
