PROS:
CONS:
The Swirl Killer 15mm DA is one of Adam's Polishes' masterpieces. Why? Because of its no-nonsense and highly efficient car polishing performance, that guarantees to make your car look like the day you have bought it. However, there are a couple of issues that include handle trigger button problems, so this 7-pound car polisher might or might not work for you based on how you like to handle your polisher.
Regardless, this car polisher still packs a punch to solve all your car scratches concerns and gets the job done. However, when you compare to others the price tag and trigger issue cause other polishers to be our suggestion.
Don't get us wrong, the build on this polisher feels nice, it is just some small things that end up causing some issues in the long run. We will get to those issues, but first let's focus on the features of this dual action polisher. The Swirl Killer's 15mm DA polisher's features include:
Spend more dollars, and you can get yourself the complete kit ready to make a difference in your scratched car.
Upon unboxing, you will get the following:
But if you want to go for the whole package, you may select from One Step Kit, Two Step Kit, or Ultimate Kit and enjoy the following extras:
The majority of Amazon store customers have enjoyed Adam's Swirl Killer 15mm DA's valuable features, evidenced by 4.7 stars it got. On the other hand, there are still dissatisfied users who got a defective unit. Adam's Polishes is known for its 100+10% money-back guarantee, so do not hesitate to contact the company if the same encounter happens to you.
We have seen this product go between $185 up to $225. If you buy the package it will cost more, and based on our breakdown it didn't really save you any money that you couldn't use on better more specialized products that have better reputations than Adams as far as paint correction goes.
Features
Once fired up, Adam's Swirl Killer 15mm DA can generate a chill-paced 2000 up to trailblazing fast 4500 orbits per minute (OPM). It can be adjusted via sliding the 6-speed dial that is found near the handle.
Unlike short-throw polishers like the Porter-Cable 7424xp and Griot's Garage 6" DA random orbital, Adam's SK DA is a long throw polisher with a 15mm throw. What this means is that Adam's Swirl Killer can do more corrections in a shorter time and covers a larger area than its counterpart, however you will find that there is a bit of a trade off as the longer throws need a larger area to be really effective.
In terms of providing the best possible comfort to users, this product fell short on many categories.
Starting with its trigger button that occupies almost ¾ of the handle when you grip it. Even if the lock is in place, a simple slide on the red trigger button will make the DA polisher turn off – quite annoying if you ask us and not something you want to do while working on a full polish or compound. Turning the machine on or off by accident can lead to a lot more work needing to be done to correct any pig tails or defects left behind.
Either you grip tighter on the handle or put strips to keep the trigger button in place; the real disadvantage of Adam's SK 15mm DA is the absence of rubber grip. It burned us out quickly as it easily slid out of our hands while testing the product.
Adam's SK 15mm DA's overall handle design is not the best out there as it is slippery, which might affect your polishing performance. However, you can hold on to the rubber grip found on the model's platypus head to make polishing easier.
The price range of this polisher ranges from $184.48 to $359.98 on Amazon. The more cash you invest, the more extras you will receive.
As a basic, you will get Adam's SK 15mm DA with a 5" backing plate with Velcro hook and loop systems.
Here are the bells and whistles that you can get once you go all in with this compelling dual action polisher:
Brand Quality
The story of Adam's Polishes can be traced back to when a 9-year-old boy named Adam Pitale developed a passion for cleaning and detailing bikes, cars, and more oversized vehicles. He eventually got inside the well-known Coca-Cola throughout his long journey and became one of its cleaners and detailers.
There was a significant number of vehicles of different kinds to clean daily. Tasked with 142 cars monthly, Pitale took it as an opportunity to rise to the top, so he devised techniques to clean faster and more efficiently. Every product that aided him is now under his name; thus, Adam's Polishes was born.
Adam Pitale always looks after his clients' demands; that is why all his products are meticulously designed and produced. Should a customer feel dissatisfied with one of his products, contact them, and he will immediately offer a 100+10% money-back guarantee. Besides, he is willing to replace an item with the same value depending on their choice.
As far as we know, Adam's Polishes is genuinely one of the few companies willing to do anything for their valued clients. But the question remains: For how long? We have seen a couple instances in the past where they have white labeled some products, and just put their logo overtop of the original manufacturers. The question then becomes, who is the original maker of this dual action polisher and how much would it cost without the Adams logo on it. And, if we are mistaken and Adams has created this product from scratch we apologize, but from all looks it looks like a rebranded product.
Performance
Many people always say that a product's value dictates how well it performs. It is undeniable that Adam's SK 15mm DA is not an economical car polisher but rather the ideal long-term car care sidekick if appropriately used. However, just as many existing polishers from different brands, Adam's SK has its own pros and cons, and we will share our findings on how it affects the polishing experience.
For beginners, there is no rubber grip on the model except in its head, so you may have a hard time while polishing, especially if you are new – but that is not the wrong thing.
Firing this thing up requires you to hold the trigger button and secure it with a lock. We appreciate the department behind the product's overall design; however, we can tell how little time they invested in testing the feature. You see, a simple slide on the slippery model, and you will find yourself turning off the device that will surely annoy you as well.
Although it has its downside, there are certainly many good things about this polisher as it does pretty good, doesn't heat up too much, and is decent as far as sound and vibrations. However, decent only gets a decent mark and thus the spot on the list that they have received.
Adams does have very good customer service and has been known to go that extra mile for customers. If you have any issues their reps are responsive on Instgram, and you can also contact them via their contact us page:
