SUMMARY:

Pinnacle Cart is a popular ecommerce solution that attracted some big names such as Corona Extra, Discovery Channel, CBS Sports and others. It is one of the most user-friendly platforms we’ve tested and offers unlimited products and administrative accounts. On the other hand, it lacks some important tools such as a built-in blog or POS system and the disk space and bandwidth are limited. Overall, we think it is best tailored for less pretentious users who value ease of use the most.

COMPLETE REVIEW

Pinnacle Cart was released in 2003 and it is a popular ecommerce platform especially among small to medium businesses.

So far, Pinnacle has been used by important names such as Discovery Channel, Corona Extra, CBS Sports, UFC and others. It is a competitive and versatile store builder and ecommerce solution which can stand in the same line with major platforms like Shopify or BigCommerce. Pinnacle can help you create the perfect online store, whether you’re in the clothing business or you want to sell your e-books or music.

Pinnacle has 4 plans to choose from: Start Up, Standard, Advanced and Enterprise. Before you settle for any of their plans, you can take advantage of their 14 days free trial. You can build your store for free by just entering your name, your store name, your email address and phone number. There are no credit card details required.

One good thing about Pinnacle is the fact that all plans have unlimited products, unlimited administrative accounts and no transaction fees. However, there are limitations in terms of bandwidth and disk space, for the first 2 plans (Start Up and Standard).

Start Up: 1 GB disk space and 2 GB bandwidth

Standard: 10 GB disk space, 20 GB bandwidth

All plans include over 450 features:

  • online store
  • mobile store and Facebook store
  • the ability to create coupons
  • discounts and gift cards
  • predictive search
  • Google shopping
  • cart abandonment remarketing
  • shared SSL (you can also opt for dedicated SSL if you are willing to pay extra; dedicated SLL is included only with their Advanced and Enterprise plans)

Pinnacle offers access to more than 30 payment methods, which is below the average. Some of them are: PayPal, Stripe, Authorize.net, 2Checkout, Amazon Payments and others. You can check all of them here: https://www.pinnaclecart.com/supported-payment-options/

Their preferred payment gateway is First Data.

One of the biggest qualities of Pinnacle is its ease of use. It’s very easy to get familiarized with all the tools and everything is intuitive, straightforward, organized and user-friendly. There is a helpful setup tutorial which can teach you all the basics in around 20 minutes. It’s very easy to add products, images and so on and you can either use one of their free and customizable templates or use the HTML/CSS editors, if coding is not a foreign language to you.

Pinnacle doesn’t offer too many free templates. There are only around 30, but the good news is they are mobile responsive.

If money is no problem for you, you can even pay one of their developers and have your store custom built. However, the prices range from $2,100 and $5,200.

There is no built-in blog, no POS application and overall, there aren’t as many available apps as with most of the major competitors. Another thing that is missing is a CDN (Content Delivery Network), which is pretty important, because its lack can result in a significantly slower website.

Here are the most important Pinnacle integrations: MailChimp, Quickbooks, Shopzilla, Shipwire, Constant Contact, Google Adwords, Stamps, Google Analytics and more.

This ecommerce solution also scores well in terms of SEO. Pinnacle lets you create URLs, descriptions, meta titles and meta tags, you can generate site maps and so on. The fact that is integrated with Google AdWords, Google Analytics and MailChimp is also a plus. You can create newsletters and send emails anytime you have product updates, etc.

Pricing

Pinnacle has 4 plans to choose from: Start Up, Standard, Advanced and Enterprise. Start Up costs $44.95/month, Standard is $94.95/month and Advanced is $199.95/month. The price for their Enterprise option is not displayed, you have to call them and arrange a deal according to your needs.

When it comes to customer support, Pinnacle has a useful, solid knowledge base. They tackle every subject you might have questions about, from design, customers and orders, to marketing issues, payment and shipping, taxes and others.

They have a Forum section and a Blog or you can contact them directly, via phone, email, live chat or support ticket system.

You can reach them by phone Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 5 pm (PST).

Live chat: Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 12 am; Sunday, from 3 pm to 12 am.

There is also an emergency support, which is available 24/7, but you can only use it in case of urgent problems: if a store is no longer operational and customers can’t perform transactions.

The fact that the phone support is not 24/7 is a disadvantage in our opinion, especially in this type of industry.
