Virtual private networks are great security solutions, regardless of the device you are using to connect to the internet. They offer protection from online threats, they offer privacy and anonymity. They allow you to stream content that is otherwise locked in some regions (for instance, Netflix), they hide your real IP address and make it look like you are located in a different place than in reality and they are a great tool for torrenting, because they keep you anonymous.

Most reputable VPN providers nowadays offer apps for all your devices, not just for your desktop versions. Most VPNs today work on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux and more.

Turbo VPN - Is it a reliable VPN for Android devices?

Turbo VPN is a VPN from China that only works on mobile devices. The VPN is compatible with both iOS And Android devices.

The Android app has 9.2MB and is compatible with Android 4.1 and newer.

Turbo VPN pricing

You can either install the free app or subscribe to Turbo VPN’s monthly or annual plans.

The subscription is $11.99/month or $2.99/year, if you opt for annual subscription.

There are around 30 servers available with Turbo VPN, located in Europe, India, Singapore, Canada, US and more. If you want to be able to access any of them, you have to subscribe to their paid plan. Otherwise, with just the free version of the app, you can only access 9 of their servers, in only 8 locations.

What does Turbo VPN offer?

Turbo VPN offers unlimited bandwidth and 5 simultaneous devices on a single account.

This VPN works with Netflix and unlocks other geo-restricted websites, such as Fox, BBC iPlayer and others.

Security is quite impressive too with Turbo VPN. The VPN uses AES 256-bit encryption and the OpenVPN and IPSec protocols.

Turbo VPN is also torrenting-friendly, although you do have to have in mind that it is a mobile app and most people use torrents with their desktop computers.

While it is a decent option is many aspects, Turbo VPN does have some downsides. Its price may be considered a bit steep and another issue is speed. This VPN is not great in terms of speed, be it download or upload speed. Tests show decreases of up to 50% in speed when using Turbo VPN.

Another disadvantage is Turbo VPN’s logging policy, which is a bit misleading. This VPN claims it has a no-logs policy, but if you carefully read their privacy policy you’ll see that they do keep a lot of user info and they might also share it with third-parties.

Overall, Turbo VPN has its benefits and its shortcomings, just like most services out there.
