VoIP (voice over the internet protocol) services are replacing regular telephony all over the world and are used for both individual and business purposes. More and more users appreciate the benefits of VoIP and the advantages it has over landlines.

VoIP is a versatile communication technology. The digital packets of data transmitted via VoIP can be anything from images and text to audio and video files. VoIP is way more affordable than landline telephony, especially when it comes to long distance calls, because it works through the internet. There is also the possibility to use these services without additional hardware; you can use just your device (computer or smartphone) and a softphone. Flexibility is another benefit of VoIP. You can move your VoIP system anywhere in the world, as long as you have a reliable internet connection.

OnSIP VoIP Overview – Is it a good service to consider?

OnSIP is one of the best VoIP service providers on the market when it comes to flexibility and user-friendliness. This company has offers for all types of customers and needs. You can use this service exclusively with a desk phone, you can opt for just a softphone or for a combination of the two.

How much does Onsip cost?

OnSIP is very simple when it comes to pricing. The company offers only 2 plans: ‘Per Minute Plan’ and ‘Unlimited Plan’.

Per Minute Plan

It is a very basic package billed at $49.95/month + 2.9c/min.

This plan includes: voicemail box (5), call recording users (1), 3 auto attendants, 3 ring groups, dial by name directory, 1 announcement, 5 music on hold channels.

In addition to these features you can also add more ‘a la carte’.

Unlimited Plan

This plan comes with a desk phone or headset for every user and it is billed at $18.95/per user/per month.

You get all the features in the other plan, but everything is unlimited. In addition to those, you also get call parking and unlimited standard calling minutes.

A la carte features you can add to both plans:

  • Voicemail box - $2
  • Music on hold channel - $4.95
  • On Net Conference Suite - $19.95
  • Conference suite bundle - $50
  • Enhanced queue agent & dashboard - $14.95
  • Inbound bridge - $1.95 + $0.005/min

Their standard inbound and outbound calls are 2.9c/min.

OnSIP allows you to port your number for $15/number. As far as phone numbers go, they are $7/setup, plus $2/month.

The fact that you can choose exactly what you want to use and add it to your plan and you only pay for what you need, is a great quality of OnSIP.

OnSIP’s software support consists of a free browser extension desktop app, which is easy to download and use. Through the app you can make and receive calls and get access to the call settings. Unfortunately, at the time of writing this article, OnSIP had no mobile app. However, you can benefit from mobile calling via a third-party softphone.

Overall, OnSIP is a basic but flexible and customizable VoIP service. It is user-friendly and offers a top-notch customer support. Take a read of all of our VOIP Reviews to see which voip provider is best for your house.
