Fewer and fewer people have remained loyal to landlines nowadays. The reason for its fall is the rise of the internet and the countless benefits it’s brought with it. Internet has made it possible for a newer, more convenient, affordable and versatile communication technology to be developed: VoIP.
Voice over the internet protocol, which is what VoIP stands for, uses internet protocols instead of landlines, to make and receive calls. The way it does it is by first converting the analog signal to a digital one. The signal is broken into several digital packets of data that are encrypted and sent over the internet towards its recipient. VoIP allows you to send audio, video, text and images, which makes it a very versatile technology, compared to landlines.
