TrueCredit is a credit monitoring and identity theft insurance service offered by TransUnion. TransUnion is one of the three major credit bureaus in the United States, along with Equifax and Experian. TrueCredit was acquired in 2002 and nowadays, it has millions of customers trusting and using the service. It boasts on having served more than 12 million customers so far.

Credit monitoring is an underrated service, given that it and can save you a lot of headache and money in the long run. Credit fraud is very frequent in this day and age and can lead to your financial accounts being taken over, ID thieves applying for loans in your name and so much more.

What does TrueCredit offer with its service?

There is also the Credit Compass feature, which gives your recommendations on how to achieve a better credit score.

How to sign up for TrueCredit?

Signing up for TrueCredit is an easy process that involves three steps: providing your personal information, creating your account and then having your identity verified.

You have to complete a form on their website with your personal information, including your full name, date of birth, your 4 last digits of your Social Security Number, your email, mobile number and address. When you sign up for the TrueCredit service, you will instantly receive your credit score.

What is the price of TrueCredit?

The TrueCredit service is priced at $14.95 per month and you can cancel your subscription any time you want.

In this price, you also get your TransUnion Score and TransUnion credit report. However, you should be aware that TransUnion doesn’t use the FICO score, which is the most popular and widely used one. It uses the VantageScore model.

TrueCredit has a special offer right now and if you sign up for the service you get a one-time 3-bureau report with scores, for the same price of $14.95, although it would normally cost you $24.95 per month to get all of these.

Getting the scores from all three major credit bureaus can be helpful because not every lender uses the same score and the 3 bureaus use different scores.
