LG Turbo Wash WM3770HVA washing machine front-load washer

Buying a washing machine requires some research on your part. Washing machines are very important appliances, used on a daily basis, for years and years in a row. That is why you have to make sure your washer will serve you right and meet your specific needs. We don’t all have the same available space, budget or produce the same amount of laundry.

Washing machines nowadays come in various models, types and capacities, so you have to make sure you choose the right one.

Types of washers

As you probably know already, there are 2 main types of washing machines: front-load washing machines and top-load washing machines. Each of them comes with its own set of advantages and disadvantages.

Front-load washers – they are usually larger than top-load washers and have a bigger capacity. But they also take up more space, so they are not the wisest choice for people who live in small apartments. In terms of washing quality, they are gentler on your laundry, thanks to the lack of the agitator found in top-load washers.

Top-load washers – they are smaller, lighter and more affordable than front-load washers. It is also easier to load your laundry in them because you don’t have to bend. But the agitator inside them makes them rougher on the laundry. They also consume more water than front-load washers.

Aspects to consider when shopping for a washer

Here are the most important ones:

  • The type of washer: front-load or top-load. Your decision should of course be made according to your budget, space and so on
  • The capacity of the washer
  • Features: washing cycles, noise level, max. RPM (revolutions per minute), etc.
