A flavored cup of coffee has the power to make your day better. Coffee is not just our morning energizer but a reason to socialize and a treat for our senses. But in order to enjoy the perfect cup of coffee, you have to know a thing or two about how to obtain a great cup of coffee.

Aside from the type of drink you want, which is a matter of taste, you also have to pay attention to the appliance that’s going to help you brew the perfect coffee. There are several options you can choose from, depending on your budget, needs and preference:

  • Drip coffee makers
  • French presses
  • Espresso machines
  • Percolators
  • One cup coffee makers

Some of them are easier to use than others and more affordable (French presses, drip coffee makers, percolators), but may not be able to obtain such flavored and tasty coffee as other, more expensive ones (espresso machines). Some are programmable, need filters, others are simple, have no digital functions and require no accessories. It is up to you to decide which one works best for your personal needs. Read more about types of coffee makers with their pros and cons.

Aspects to consider when buying a coffee maker

The first thing you should consider when choosing a coffee maker is type and design. We’ve covered the main types above. Other things to consider are: type of filter (permanent, disposable), carafe material (glass, stainless-steel).

Another factor to consider is capacity. How much coffee do you need to be able to make in a single brewing cycle? 12 cups, 8 cups, 4 or a single cup?

Features are also important in coffee makers. The ability to choose between different types of brew/strength, a timer so you can schedule a brew, are just a few examples of features to look for in a coffee maker.

You should also check out the warranty of the appliance before you buy it. The longer the warranty, the better. Some manufacturers offer 3 years, others only offer 1.

What are the coffee makers offered by Ninja?

Ninja is a popular appliance brand owned by SharkNinja, an American company headquartered in Massachusetts. It is well-known for its kitchen blenders, food processors, cookers and coffee makers, to name a few. The company has a lot of years of experience backing it up, as it was founded in 1998.

When it comes to coffee and also tea makers, Ninja has 4 products to choose from: Ninja Hot and Cold Brewed System with Thermal Carafe, Ninja Hot and Cold Brewed System with Glass Carafe, Ninja Coffee Brewer and Ninja Coffee Bar System with Glass Carafe.

The Ninja Hot and Cold Brewed System with Thermal Carafe is their most expensive product. It costs $230 and it is both a coffee and tea maker. It comes with a double-walled stainless steel thermal carafe which can keep your drink hot for up to 2 hours.

The Ninja Hot and Cold Brewed System with Thermal Carafe coffee maker offers several serving size options, cup, XL cup, travel mug, XL multi-serve, half carafe, full carafe.

It comes with various coffee and tea brew options: classic, rich, over ice, cold brew and specialty for coffee and herbal, black, oolong, white and green for tea.

Its parts are dishwasher safe and it has a permanent filter great for coffee and tea.

The Ninja Hot and Cold Brewed System with Thermal Carafe also comes with a recipe book with 40 recipes.

The Ninja Hot and Cold Brewed System with Glass Carafe coffee maker goes for $200 and has the same specifications and features as the Thermal Carafe coffee maker, except for the carafe which on this model is made of glass. The inspiration guide included also differs, because it only has 10 recipes, instead of 40.

Other than that, you can do the same things with this coffee maker as with the Thermal Carafe model. You get a coffee and tea maker in one single machine, you can choose between 6 brew sizes and so on.

Another model to consider is the Ninja Coffee Bar System, which is one of their best-selling models. It is priced at approximately $170 and comes with a 10-cup glass carafe. You can’t make tea with it but you can choose between 5 types of brew: Classic, Rich, Over Ice, Specialty and the exclusive Ninja Café Forte brew.

The Classic brewing option is pretty self-explanatory and brews your classic ‘cup of Joe’. The Rich mode makes something between a classic and espresso (strength-wise), the Ice mode lets you to prepare hot coffee over ice and the Specialty option is for espresso-based drinks. The Ninja Café Forte is great for those who take their coffee black and the results will depend on the coffee beans you are using.

The serving sizes available are cup, XL, cup, travel mug, XL multi-serve, half carafe and full carafe.

The Ninja Coffee Brewer is the cheapest option from Ninja. It costs $100 and it is the only model that doesn’t feature the Auto-iQ One-Touch Intelligence technology. The Auto-iQ technology drains the exact amount of water needed for each individual brew, so that you don’t have to measure the water amount each time you want to make coffee.

The Ninja Coffee Brewer is also just a coffee maker and not a tea one. It features 2 brew sizes instead of 6 offered by the other 3 models and it only offers 2 coffee styles, classic and rich. In terms of serving sizes, you can either brew up to 12-cups or use the small batch function and brew 4 cups of coffee or less.

All 4 models of coffee makers from Ninja are pod-free, have a warming plate (except for the Ninja Hot and Cold Brewed System with Thermal Carafe), come with the programmable delay brew feature, a fold-away frother (except for the Ninja Coffee Brewer), have dishwasher safe parts and have a 50 oz. removable water reservoir.

All the models come with a 1-year limited warranty, free shipping and a 60-day money back guarantee.
