There are so many models to choose from when it comes to coffee makers that it can be a daunting job to pick one. Cuisinart is a renowned home appliance manufacturer and it’s been around since 1971. It is currently owned by Conair Corporation and it has a wide range of products to offer: coffee makers, blenders, air fryers, bakeware, cutlery, flatware and much more.

The Cuisinart Extreme Brew (DCC-2650) is one of their best-selling drip coffee-makers. One of the features that make this coffee maker stand out is its speed of brewing. The Cuisinart Extreme Brew makes your coffee up to 25% faster than regular coffee makers.

What are the specifications of the Extreme Brew?

  • Dimensions (L X W X H): 7.75 X 9 X 14 inch
  • UC Weight: 9 lb.
  • Capacity: up to 12 cups
  • 24-hour programmability
  • BPA free
  • Glass carafe
  • Hotplate adjustable temperature control

The Extreme Brew has a modern and elegant design with an LCD display and plenty of buttons at hand. It has a premium feel to it and comes with a glass carafe and a gold tone filter.

The coffee maker is an upgrade from the old DCC-2600. Some might complain that the new 2650 Extreme Brew has a smaller carafe, with a capacity of just 12 cups, versus 14, with the old model. However, the 12-cup capacity falls within the industry standard and there’s a reason behind this decision. The new Extreme Brew model is way faster than its predecessor and the slightly smaller capacity helped with improving the brewing time by one minute.

What are the highlights of the Extreme Brew DCC-2650?

The Extreme Brew is capable of brewing a cup of coffee in 30 seconds and comes with plenty other features to enjoy.

It has a 24-hour programmability, which means you can program the coffee maker to brew you a fresh cup of coffee anytime you want. You can program the machine in the evening and have it brew your coffee right before you wake up, so you won’t waste any more time in the morning.

The Extreme Brew lets you control the strength of the coffee, as people have different tastes. You can choose between regular coffee or bold coffee, with the latter being the stronger one.

One other useful feature is the auto shut-off feature which can be very helpful especially if you are a scatter brain. If you forget to turn off the coffee maker after you’re done using it, the Cuisinart Extreme Brew does that by itself. By default, the coffee maker is set to turn off after 4 hours of inactivity, but you can tweak those settings to your own convenience, between 0 and 4 hours.

The water reservoir is very easy to refill and there is also a small window on the side that shows you the water level.

There is a Self Clean feature available with the Extreme Brew, for when it is time to have the machine cleaned.

If you can’t wait for the whole cycle to be finished, the Brew Pause feature of the coffee maker lets you interrupt the cycle and pour a cup of coffee before the brewing cycle ends.

The Extreme Brew has a capacity of 12 cups but you can brew fewer cups if you want, with the “1 to 4 cups” setting on the machine.

The hotplate comes with adjustable temperature so you can set it to your liking and keep the coffee warm inside the carafe. You can choose between high, medium and low.

Another useful feature is the 60-second memory feature that keeps the last settings in case of a sudden power loss or if someone accidentally unplugs the coffee maker.

All in all, the DCC-2650 Extreme Brew is an extremely versatile coffee maker, which is fully programmable, solidly built and stylish in design. You can get it for approximately $100.
