Introduction

When trying to lose weight, the journey is usually challenging and in many cases, it even turns out to be very frustrating. Losing weight takes time, perseverance, and patience. There are many effective and healthy diets to help you burn fat, however, there are still common mistakes that a lot of people make that hinder their weight loss program.

Although many people follow a healthy lifestyle and exercise routines, they still don’t get to achieve their goals. This can happen due to outdated information and misleading guides. When starting a healthy diet you should understand that there are many factors that affect the weight loss process.

For example, one of the most common reasons can be simply because of hormonal problems or changes. Also, if you’re eating healthy but not getting enough sleep, this can influence the ability of your body to burn fats and get rid of excessive weight. Here’s all you need to know about losing weight and the right and wrong ways to go about getting rid of those extra pounds.

Avoid Drinking Fruit Juices

This can be shocking news to many people who drink fruit juices, especially between meals. There’s quite a big difference between eating and drinking fruits since the number of fruits needed to fill one glass can be triple the number of fruits you’ll consume by eating. Even if you’re not adding any sugar, the amount of sugar in one glass of fresh fruit juice can reach 100g per liter.

Drinking large amounts of fruit juices increases the insulin level in the blood, thereby promoting the storage of fats and stopping the body from burning them. While eating fruits is healthy, especially because they contain fiber, drinking fruit juices has a completely different effect on our bodies.

Foods Rich in Fibers

One of the best things you can do to lose weight is to increase your intake of dietary fibers. The fibers found in some foods like whole grains, fruits, vegetables, salads, legumes, and sprouts perform a number of significant duties, such as increasing metabolism, slowing down digestion, and helping your body build a healthy intestinal flora. Dietary fibers stimulate enzymes that break down fat, allowing the body to get rid of them and even help in preventing fat absorption. Foods rich in fiber mix with water and fill the stomach, which helps in increasing the feeling of satiety.

Dietary Supplements

Many dietary supplements contain several natural substances that encourage weight loss. These substances work differently: some of them target excess fats, increase the body's metabolism, crush cravings, and help increase energy levels. During your weight loss journey make sure you find what works best for you. Whether it’s a healthy diet, daily exercise, or dietary supplements, make sure you always feel healthy and comfortable. Over the past few years, weight loss and fitness awareness have significantly increased, which has made it easier for many adults to adopt healthier habits and modified lifestyles.

Eat Two to Three Meals a Day

Some people believe that eating fewer meals or eating smaller portions in their main meals is a good solution. However, this might end up triggering hunger and adding more snacks between meals which only makes things worse. Adding snacks between your meals usually triggers insulin release. Even if it’s just a few bites, it can still disturb the ability of your body to burn fat. When consuming extra small amounts of foods you might think it won’t harm, the insulin will prevent the release of glucagon hormone, which has the important function of breaking down fatty acids. Eating two to three proper meals a day while limiting any snacks and drinks, except for water, is much more beneficial to your weight loss routine.

Avoid Artificial Sweeteners

That might sound disappointing to many of us because it’s better to believe that we can consume low or zero-calorie foods and drinks as much as we like. However, the truth is that zero calories drinks still contain artificial sweeteners, which promote insulin resistance and inhibit important enzymes that prevent obesity from being reduced.

Ignoring Exercise

It’s true that if we only rely on calorie deficit diets we will lose fats. This is rather simple and easy for a lot of people to do; you just eat less and your body will keep on burning stored fats to get the energy it needs to function. But what can happen in the long run can be quite shocking, especially if we don’t exercise.

After a while, the body will start signaling that you no longer need your muscles since you’ve stopped building any for a long time; as a result, it will start prioritizing using muscles to get the energy it needs to perform daily activities over fats.

Basically, that’s why a lot of people will stop losing weight if they don’t exercise, even though they’re still relying on a calorie deficit approach. When you forgo exercise your body will start reversing how it acts. In the end, your body is far smarter than you think.
