But if you have narrowed down your ideas between two electric toothbrushes that have pretty good value propositions then you have come to the right place. This is why we have done another review comparing the Oral-B 1000 with the Oral-B 3000. In this article, we’ll explore the benefits of both models so that you can make an informed decision when it comes to selecting your next electric toothbrush.

It has a tactile alert when you are supposed to move the brush head to a different part of your mouth which is good if you kind of just space out when brushing your teeth. The times is set for 2 minutes, and we sometimes see them set at 3 minutes so this is one thing to keep in mind.
The Oral-B 3000 has the same three cleaning modes—daily clean, sensitive, and whitening—as well as an in-handle timer and pressure alert system like its predecessor. The only real difference is stuff that is might not be needed if you are looking for a basic electric toothbrush. These include a Bluetooth connectivity app, as well as a visual timer to move to a different part of your mouth ( on top of a similar tactile feedback buzz as the 1000)
Comparing the Oral-B 1000 vs the 3000 models reveals some differences when it comes to features and functions. Ultimately, they are both pretty similar in all honesty. The modes are the same, and the only real differences are if you really like apps or the visual alert to move on to another part of your mouth.

But as this is a head-to-head comparison let's take a closer look at how they compare in terms of functionality and performance.
To start off with, both models are built with the same three main brushing modes: Daily Clean, Whiten, and Sensitive. Additionally, both models come with pressure sensors, which will alert you if you brush too hard. So really, these both seem to offer the same functions when it comes to the actual brushing actions.
Let’s dig deeper into some other differences between these two impressive toothbrushes:
- Brush Head: Both brushes feature interchangeable heads, but the Oral-B 1000 comes with 1 type of head whereas the Oral-B 3000 includes 2 types ( this can vary between offers and special packages) so users can choose from a range of options to suit their needs better.
- Battery Life: The battery life on each model differs significantly; the Oral-B 1000 runs for about 10 days on one full charge, while the Oral-B 3000 can last up to 7 days before needing to be recharged again. We did check this with a couple of sources as we were surprised, but more to that in a bit...
- Smartphone Connectivity: One unique feature of the Oral-B 3000 is its ability to connect easily with your smartphone via Bluetooth, making it easier than ever to track your oral hygiene habits. On the other hand, this capability isn’t available on the lower-end model (Oral-B 1000).
So there you have it—as you can see, these brushes have pretty similar functions, which makes sense. There are a couple of small differences though.
So this is where it gets a bit interesting. While the one model is a bit older, it is expected to be a bit cheaper if you can still find it. And this is why in the updated review we might actually suggest getting the Oral B 1000. We just checked on Amazon, and they have a 17% off special for about $50 vs the Oral B 3000 at around $100, which goes on and off sale regularly.
They have similar functions, benefits, and outcomes for brushing... so the truth is that you really don't need to spend twice as much. Sure you might get a different toothbrush head... but the truth is they all can use the Oral B heads... so if you like a different one than the 1000 package comes with you can easily buy a couple of packages of replacement heads and be at the same price point as the 3000. There is a couple small points that we will go over next to see what you would be missing out on.
This is the last section of the post for the comparison before we bring it all to a conclusion, and that is the spotlight on what you will be missing if you go with the Oral B 1000 over the 3000. And that is the technology part. As a kind of entry-level tech electric toothbrush, there is one thing that the 3000 has that the 1000 does not. And that is the app/Bluetooth aspect. Some people, they just really like to have apps for everything in life. Sure the Oral B app is cool, but honestly, I have never been brushing my teeth and said you know what... I really need an app for this. So if you are one of those people then the 3000 might be perfect for you.
In the same kind of very specific user requirement, comes the visual indicator to move the toothbrush. If you don't remember to move the toothbrush much.... and the nudge during your cleaning doesn't help then this might be perfect for you. When I am doing the testing, I try to use every toothbrush within the usage guide but after a while, I just brush my teeth how I do normally. Sometimes I move it around too fast, and sometimes not fast enough. But that is how I brush my teeth. So if you have ever thought, I REALLY wish I had a light go off when I was brushing my teeth to remind me to move to a different section then the Oral B 3000 is PERFECT for you. But, as we alluded to above when comparing the battery life they do come at a cost...
Just like leaving Bluetooth on while using your phone, it will drain your battery a lot faster than not having it. I am sure the visual light to move the toothbrush won't drain much but Bluetooth will. I don't keep Bluetooth on my phone, so just can't think of why I would turn it on just to brush my teeth. If you do have it on all the time, then again this might be perfect for you.
Overall, the Oral-B 1000 and 3000 electric toothbrushes have a features to help you brush your teeth that are pretty similar at their core levels. They have the same 3 modes, similar. The 3000 model offers some ( somewhat specific ) functions to help you achieve that perfect smile every day but at the end of it all it is for very specific people. But both models are good at removing plaque and can help keep your teeth clean if you use them as directed as they offer the same modes and the same classic Oral B movement.
When considering cost, it’s important to weigh whether or not the extra features offered by the 3000 model are worth the additional price tag. If you’re looking for an economical yet efficient brush with basic functionality, then the 1000 is a great option. On the other hand, if you want all of the bells and whistles ( AKA Bluetooth App and Light )that come with it, then investing in the 3000 may be well worth it.
In conclusion, I’d recommend taking some time to compare these two models so that you can find one that best fits your needs and budget.
