D-Link (DAP-1330) N300 wifi extenders white antennas

WiFi extenders are a good solution when your WiFi signal is not strong enough in those ‘dead zones’ of your home. While they don’t have the best data speeds and won’t make your internet faster, they can extend the WiFi coverage space emitted by your router.

Routers are only effective in a certain range and the WiFi signal can easily deteriorate as you move further away from the main access point. What the extender does is it increases that WiFi signal, so that you don’t have to move the router all around the house.

There is another option when you are dealing with poor WiFi signal in certain areas of your homes. You can also buy another router. However, WiFi extenders are considerably cheaper and that’s why they are still preferred by a lot of people.

D-Link N300 – is it a good option?

The N300 from D-Link is a budget-friendly WiFi extender. It is not the most premium product you can find, but it is user-friendly and reliable.

Price: One of the main advantages of the D-Link N300 is its attractive price. You can now get the N300 on Amazon for as low as $25.

The N300 is a simple and cute device. It is rectangular, small in size, comes in white and has 2 cute antennas on the sides. There is a built-in plug on the back, so you don’t need an adapter, you just plug it in directly. This way you can easily move it around the house, where needed. There is also the WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) button on it and the N300 comes equipped with 1 Ethernet port. If you have more devices you want to plug into the extender, you might want to consider another model, with several ports.

The N300 measures 3 X 2.1 X 1.3 inches and supports IEEE 802.11n, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.3u, IEEE 802.11b.

There is a LED indicator on it to show you the strength of your signal and the 2 antennas are foldable, making it even more compact.

The N300 has an average throughput rate of 300 Mbps, which is a really decent speed.

The N300 works only on the 2.4 GHz band. In terms of coverage, the N300 should be enough for any type of small to medium home/apartment.

Setting up the N300 is a breeze. You simply have to plug in the extender, press the WPS button on your router, the same button on your extender and that’s it.

The N300 is really versatile and it is compatible with pretty much any router/wireless device.

D-Link also provides a mobile app which is useful for setting up the device and it also gives you access to the settings.

While it is not the most complex and high-end range extender on the market, the D-Link is a great value for the money. It is irresistibly cheap and it does its job well, helping you eliminate those annoying dead zones in your home, so that you can enjoy a stronger, more reliable WiFi signal.
