features akg k72 headphones

AKG headphones are known for their remarkable comfort and good pricing. The AKG K72 is no exception as it checks all the highlights: comfort, style, and sound.

Design

AKG K72 has a sleek design that goes well with whatever style. It uses large circumaural cups which cover the whole ear. It is designed to accommodate most users. It is also comfortable to wear even after long hours of use.

Small touches of design such as concentric circles on the cups and the comfortable design of the headphones easily make it look more expensive than it is. Its pads are also covered in synthetic leather which looks good under any lighting.

Another highlight of their design is their static padded band. Instead of being heavily clamped in your head, AKG K72 feels light but tight enough as to not easily fall. It uses fabric which is held by frames of steel bands (which are lightweight). Most of its parts are also made from plastic which makes it easy to carry around.

It is great for both home and outdoor usage. The only issue is its 3-meters long cable which may be irritating for some. It may also cause your wires to easily get tangled in your bag. Aside from this, the cord is also non-removable which may shorten the lifetime of the headphone if you accidentally pull it hard.

Sound

The AKG K72 is worth it even just for its affordable price. It has enough scale and width to be compared to an audiophile’s headphone.

Its bass is good for both listening to music and watching movies. It also sounds smooth and comprehensive in contrast to the muffled sounds which affordable headphones are known for. Complicated rhythms and fast beats are easily heard though the model.
Its midrange is also good for casual listening although it can be a little improved.

One of the problems AKG K72 has is its average level of isolation. Given that it is closed-back, it is expected that you will barely be able to hear any sound from your environment. With comfort being their priority, it seems that isolation was sacrificed a little. Still, it is still good for use in public settings such as for commuting and office use.

Technical details

Here are some of the technical details of the headphones if you would like to know more about them:
• AKG K72 uses 40mm drivers which are known for extended frequency range
• It is a closed-back type of headphones which makes it good for isolation, music production, and tracking
• It has an adjusting headband which makes it good for a variety of users
• It is comfortable to wear given its light weight and good materials
• Its earcups are replaceable
• Its wires, however, are not replaceable

Conclusion

K72 is a great model from AKG that offers superior sound quality along with great comfort for its users.
