The resolution of our devices has reached new heights over the years. If we got overly excited when the first HD television set was launched, nowadays the standards have changed enormously and UHD, also called 4K, is the new standard. It is hard to find a ‘non-smart’ TV set in this day and age.
Here are some of the best 4K TVs to consider, in terms of image quality, features and price:
Samsung Q90 QLED
The Q90 is an upgrade to the already popular Q9FN and it comes in several sizes: 55, 65, 75 and 82-inch.
It is a superb set with a simple yet elegant design and an astonishing image quality. It comes with an almost invisible bezel, 4 HDMI ports, 3 USB ports (2.0 and 3.0), built-in WiFi and Apple AirPlay.
The Q90 has a Quantum Processor 4K, HDR 10+, Direct Full Array Elite, 4000 PQI (Picture Quality Index), Bixby, SmartThings support, Bluetooth and more.
The Q90 is definitely the most impressive QLED TV so far and can easily compete with the best OLED sets out there. It delivers natural colors, deep blacks and impressive details.
The Samsung Q90 TV has a matching price though and it will cost you approximately $2,800 (the 65-inch model).
LG C8
LG has always been a tough competitor to beat when it comes to 4K TVs and the C8 OLED model makes no exception.
The C8 is rich in features, delivers a superb image and comes with an upgraded processor, the Alpha 9. This model has a lot of similarities with the C7, but brings more features to the table and a slightly more attractive, ultra-thin design.
There are 4 HDMI inputs, 3 USB ports, a LAN port, built-in WiFi, WiDi, Bluetooth and more. The Magic remote control is very precise and always a joy to use.
The C8 comes in 55-inch, 65-inch and 77-inch. Its OLED technology helps the C8 to deliver superb and uniform colors and LG also added a new useful feature to this model, a ‘de-contouring’ feature.
The LG C8 can be purchased as a bundle on Amazon for $2,500. In this price you also get an Xbox One S 1 TB and a wall mount bundle.
Vizio M-Series Quantum
On the more budget-friendly end, the Vizio M-Series Quantum is a great 4K TV and a great value for the money.
You can purchase one for under $1,000 and you get more features and qualities you can hope for in this price range.
The M-Series comes in a lot of sizes, from 43 to 65-inch, with the 65-inch one being the most popular.
The 65-inch version comes with an upgraded SmartCast OS (SmartCast OS 3), a 60 Hz refresh rate, 4 HDMI inputs and 1 USB, quantum dot enhancement and HDR support.
Despite its questionably low price, the M-Series delivers impressive, natural colors with deep blacks and bright images. This set can handle motion well and fast action images are not choppy as in other similarly priced sets.
You get 30 apps such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video and many more.
Overall, the M-Series from Vizio is definitely one to consider if you are on a tighter budget but still want the best possible compromise.
