COMPLETE REVIEW

Tribit is a Bluetooth audio and headphones brand based in China. While they do have several models of speakers, one in particular has managed to gain popularity: the Tribit XSound Go.

The XSound Go is a budget speaker with impressive qualities. While its price and brand may not convey that much trust at first, if you are just willing to give it a chance, you’ll be surprised of what it can do.

Here are the main specifications for the Tribit XSound Go:

  • Dimensions (H x W x D): 56 x 59 x 170 mm
  • Weight: 380 g
  • Bluetooth version: V4.2
  • Drivers: 2 x 40mm, 1 x passive radiator
  • Signal to noise ratio: ≥80dB
  • Frequency response: 85-20kHz
  • Battery: 4400mAh; Battery life: up to 24 hours; Charging time: 4 hours
  • IPX7 rating

The Tribit XSound Go comes in 2 colors: black and blue. The design is average. The speaker is small and light weight, easy to hold and carry around with you, which is a big pro, especially given the big size battery crammed inside. However, even so, the Tribit XSound Go feels sturdy and durable, so you don’t have to worry that it will break easily. All controls are on top: power, Bluetooth connectivity, pause, volume down and volume up. The overall feeling you get when you hold the Tribit speaker is that is a small, compact, lightweight, yet solid speaker.

Under its plastic housing you’ll find 2 drivers, each packing 6W.

The speaker comes with a lanyard so that you can carry or hang the speaker wherever possible, a micro USB cable for charging and the user manual.

And now for the strengths of this budget-friendly device: the Tribit X Sound Go is IPX7 rated, meaning it is completely waterproof. This is a really useful feature and a real pro, given the price of the gadget.

Another pro of the Tribit X Sound Go is its impressive battery. The speaker is equipped with a 4400 mAh battery and you can squeeze up to 24 hours of music playback out of it, at a medium volume. Of course with such a monster-battery, you need to wait a good 4 hours for the speaker to fully charge. The auto-off feature contributes to this long battery life, by turning off the speaker when it’s not used for a couple of minutes.

The Sound Go has a connectivity range of 66 feet. It allows you to take calls, thanks to its integrated microphone and you can also access voice input for Google Now or Siri.

Quality of sound

This affordable little speaker has grown in popularity for several reasons: price is obviously one of them, and then there’s the impressive battery life and he fact that it is waterproof. But another important reason is its sound quality. The Tribit X Sound Go is capable of delivering a clear, crisp sound and this sound quality maintains at higher volumes too. Only when you are using the speaker on max. volume, it is possible to get a bit of distortion. The bass is decent too. The X Sound Go doesn’t have the most powerful, punchy bass out there, but you can’t even have such exaggerated expectation from a $30 Bluetooth speaker. Aside from that, the Tribit has a balanced, clean sound. Highs and mids are also more than decent. Calls are clear enough, you won’t experience any problems while using the speaker to take a call.

Overall, the sound of this speaker is really good. While it may not sound as a premium device that costs two hundred dollars or more, it doesn’t sound like a $30 Bluetooth speaker either. Most importantly, the Tribit X Sound Go has some features that are rarely found in this price range, so it is definitely a great value for the money.
