COMPLETE REVIEW

Epos Now was launched in 2011 and characterizes itself as a leader in cloud POS. It is a British company, with offices in London, Manchester, Glasgow and, starting last year, also Florida.

Epos Now claims to have more than 30,000 customers in over 100 countries across the Globe and its clients’ list includes names such as Universal Studios, Walt Disney Pictures, The Keys, Navaho Coffee, Yankee Candle and others.

Their cloud based POS system is compatible with both Mac/iOS, Windows and Android devices.

Epos Now seems to be doing very well financially, registering a 150% growth per year and becoming the UK’s 13th fastest growing tech company.

This POS system is suitable for many types of businesses from retail to restaurants, bars, gyms, hotels, etc.

All packages include unlimited products, users, unlimited software and security updates.

Standard and Premium also include cloud reporting (Enterprise comes with “enterprise reporting”). While Premium also includes 24/7 phone support, the Standard plan doesn’t, which is a drawback as far as we’re concerned. The only kind of support you’re going to get with Standard is email support.

Epos Now boasts on being “world’s easiest POS system”. They claim the staff can be fully operational within just 15 minutes. The interface is indeed very user-friendly. When you first sign in, the getting started guide will help you getting through all the basic steps of your setup. Unlike other useless guides we’ve tested, this one is really helpful. You can easily learn how to split orders into multiple forms of payment, manage your stock for all your locations, send stock between your stores and so on.

Also, as long as you have a running Safari or Chrome, you can access the software from any device and any place and you can export your data in CSV files.

The system has a lot of useful features that apply to all the aspects of your business: reporting, back office, inventory, staff, customers, etc. You can set custom dashboards, accept credit and debit cards, scan barcodes, track your products, set alerts for when your stock is low, create and print invoices, book various types of appointments, set promotions, set permissions for your employees, assign PIN codes or swipe cards in order to sign in and so on.

The Epos Now POS software can be used with hardware purchased directly from them, or with third-party hardware.

A nice feature of this POS system is the fact that it can be used with any payment processor you want. Epos Now is fully integrated with Vantiv Mercury for US merchants, but it can also integrate with Paypal Here, Apple Pay and many others.

There are also over 80 integrations available on their AppStore. Here are some of their partners: MailChimp, Zapier, Xero, Sage, Sage One, Appointedd, QuickBooks, CaterBook,  Nettle, Boppl and many more.

Pricing

Epos Now offers a free 30 days trial, with no credit card requirements. After that period expires, you can choose from one of their 3 plans: Standard ($39/month and $24 per additional register), Premium ($69/month and $45 per additional register) and Enterprise (you have to contact them in order to get a custom quote).

You can also buy the software for $750.

Epos Now has a great customer support. You can contact them by phone, email or live chat (there's a short waiting time). The only thing we didn’t appreciate was the fact that the phone support is not 24/7 if you sign up for their Standard plan.

Their working hours are: Monday-Saturday, from 9 am to 6 pm (Eastern Time).

There is also a blog on their website, with articles, news and so on, but that’s pretty much everything you’re going to find in terms of helpful resources, so the best thing is to just contact them, if you have any questions or problems.
