Slow computer loading

Introduction

Ashampoo WinOptimizer is a solid choice for a system optimizer because of its countless effective features. These are all housed in a simple and intuitive interface that any user can instantly learn upon using. The application also offers a free version that can solve some of the PC’s issues.

Ashampoo WinOptimizer

Ashampoo WinOptimizer is a popular choice for system optimizers. Made by German software makers, it has been continuously praised by computer experts and users alike because of its effectivity.

Interface

The application has recently updated its interface to a cleaner and modern design. It has an overall theme of grey, with its features individually highlighted for easier browsing.

Upon opening the application, users can immediately see the different features of the application which makes them easier to use.

Using the app

To start using the program, users simply need to click the “Analyze” button to start the scan of their whole PC. With this, errors that may be fixed by the different features of the application will appear. This may include unnecessary registry entries, junk files, and more.

After scanning, users can see the different errors found all written in one comprehensive report. Users will be given the freedom to check and uncheck which specific files should be fixed by the application. This level of control is a nice touch to the program as it providers user information about what the application will fix.

Once the user has selected which parts of the computer will be fixed, they will simply need to click the ‘Optimize’ button for the different features to be used.

Features

The following are the different features that Ashampoo WinOptimizer uses to improve PC performance:

Browsing Traces – these are cookies that users may download from the websites they frequent in. If left undeleted, it may make it easier for websites to track your activities. This feature deletes these from your browsers.

Unnecessary registry entries – as the name implies, it clears our entries within the registry that are no longer necessary mainly because of uninstalled applications

Unnecessary files – this removes junk files from the computer which are mostly remnant ones from recent uninstallations. This also includes invalid shortcuts.

Unnecessary autostart entries – these are applications that are programmed to start alongside the PC automatically. By reducing these and selecting only those that are important, users can have a significant speed boost.

Optimizable system settings – the application fixes your Windows settings to improve PC performance

Optimize security settings – the application comes with Win10 privacy Control and AntiSpy which are programs that can help improve the security of the PC. It helps decide which photos, passwords, and more are to be kept in private. This also removes the risk of unsolicited tracking by third-party applications.

The application has a free version that, unlike other system optimizers, actually helps improve the condition of the PC instead of only scanning for its issues.

Performance impact

The application was able to improve the performance of our test PC. The PC boot-up time was significantly decreased. There were also less freezes and application crashes.
