Digital house that you can use with software to change designs while you are planning your ideas.

Review of DreamPlan Home design

DreamPlan Home Design Software is most recommended for more amateur users who would like to translate their home design ideas into 3D, 2D, or rendered 2D using user-friendly features. Although the application lacks in terms of additional objects and customizations, it makes up for it with its solid set of features which can create a good visual representation of a design plan for a home.

Opening and using the application

The application has a simple interface which users can instantly be familiar with (although quite dated in terms of design).

Upon opening the app, users will be given the choices of starting a new project, viewing a sample, or opening an already existing one.

Amateurs will not be too overwhelmed with the application as it has numerous on-screen tips for its different features. Building models is also not hard given the abundance of samples. The navigation tool of the app is also easy to use, with users able to become familiar with it in just a couple of uses.

The application offers three types of views for the house designs. The 3D view is the best to use once the design is fully realized and if the user wants to see an actual display of it. The 2D view is the closest to a blueprint view as it gives a bird’s eye view of the design which is good for conceptual stages. Finally, the rendered 2d shows the blueprint made by the user with more details. Users can work immediately in 3D view if they are more comfortable with this.

Home design

Translating floor plans from paper to screen is easy because of the intuitive features of the application. The toolbars of the application contain the different objects which can be added for the landscape, the interior, the exterior, the building, and the deck. Users can simply click to drag and add. Users can also manipulate the properties of the objects such as doors, windows, and walls, to make them fit properly inside a house.

The house tool has countless objects which are measured to properly reflect real life. This makes the app good for interior designing.

A highlight of DreamPlan is their roof designing which is usually one of the difficult tools to use in in 3D designing applications. Users can quickly adjust the dimensions of the roof including its width and slope. It also has its own roof wizard which can automatically cover an area which the user wants to be covered. It has a smart sensor which automatically adjusts its dimensions as to lessen the need for adjustment from the user.

If users already have a pre-determined design, they can simply add it on to another existing design as to make the process easier.

The application has specific tools for the kitchen, bathroom, basement, and more room as to make visualizing a home more realistic for users. They can also freely add additional content for their houses if none of the models installed match their vision.

Landscaping and garden design with software

The garden can also be envisioned with the application. Environmental objects such as trees and gardens can be freely dragged into your design. Users can also add more items and 3D models from the internet for specific designs.

The terrain can also be manipulated. The app also has a tool specifically for swimming pool design which has its own set of intricacies.

Drawbacks of using Home Design Software

The only cons that users will face with the application is its relative lack of additional objects and features when compared to others. However, this can be fixed by users by simply downloading 3D objects and more contents online.

System requirements of DreamPlan Home Design

The application can be used on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10. It only works for 64-bit versions. It can also be used for Mac OS X 10.5 and above. It requires at least 64 mb of video card that can support Pixel Shader 2.0.
