features toco vehicle service contracts provider mechanic checking out car

Toco is a vehicle service contract provider from California. The company has been on the market for more than 6 years and has a good reputation in the industry. Even the Better Business Bureau (BBB) rated Toco with an A+.

What does Toco offer?

Toco offers vehicle service contracts (VSC) and MBI (mechanical breakdown insurance), the latter just for California residents. Toco operates almost in the entire country, with the exception of Alaska, Missouri and Washington.

The waiting period for the coverage to take effect is standard: 30 days and 1,000 miles.

MBI is available for car owners with vehicles less than 10 years old (with up to 70,000 miles).

As for the VSCs, there are four plans to choose from: Blue, Green, Yellow and Orange.

Blue is the simplest plan but the one that accepts the oldest cars. Your car can be from the year 1999 or newer to qualify and it can have a maximum of 175,000 miles.

This plan is the most basic one and covers the engine, transmission, drive axle, transfer case, turbo/supercharger, electrical, cooling system, air conditioning, fuel system.

The Green and Yellow plans accept vehicles that are from 2010 or newer and with up to 100,000 miles on them.

These plans are very similar in coverage and both cover the engine, transmission, drive axle, transfer case, turbo/supercharger, electrical, steering, air conditioning, cooling system, brakes, fuel. The difference between them is that the Green one also covers the audio system and the Yellow one covers the suspension and electronic high tech. The Yellow one also includes the technology package and the modern features package.

The Orange plan is the most comprehensive one of all four. It covers cars that are only from 2015 or newer, with a mileage of up to 60,000 miles. It includes the engine, transmission, drive axle, transfer case, turbo/supercharger, air conditioning, cooling system, electrical, fuel system, brakes, steering, suspension, electronic high tech, technology and modern features packages.

Toco doesn’t restrict its customers to certain repair shops when they need to repair their car. Clients can take their vehicles to any repair shop in the country they want to. However, Toco does offer a discount for the $100 deductible to those who choose one of Toco’s preferred locations. If they do so, the deductible drops to $50 per visit.

Toco offers non-stop roadside assistance to its customers, as well as rental car benefits and trip interruption coverage. These benefits are available with all their plans.

This company doesn’t require a down payment and the monthly rates are not pricey. You can also cancel on them anytime you want, as there are no long-term commitments required.

For each of the plan available with Toco, you can request a free quote online. All you have to do is fill in the form on their website, with your full name, phone number, e-mail, ZIP code and your vehicle information (year, vehicle make, model and current mileage).

Customer support is also good with Toco and you can reach them by e-mail, live chat and phone.

We have found that Toco is a great extended warranty provider and they have achieved the second spot in our ratings which is amazing.
