Internet faxing has a lot of advantages for both regular consumers and businesses. It is a more affordable faxing method than traditional faxing, which helps you save a lot of money you would otherwise spend on high phone bills, paper, toner, ink and so on.

Internet faxing doesn’t require a fax machine, although you can continue to use one with online faxing as well. The only things you need in order to send/receive faxes via internet are a computer, internet access and to sign up for an online fax service. Sending a fax over the internet is the same as sending an e-mail. You have to attach the file you want to fax and send the e-mail to a recipient by typing in their fax number, which usually has a format like: [email protected].

Most online fax service support all the common file formats, from txt, doc and pdf to jpeg, png and others. For each fax you send, you get a transmission report or confirmation e-mail.

And the good news is that internet faxing is paperless, so if you care about nature and the environment, you’d be pleased to know that fewer trees will get cut for paper needs, thanks to you switching to online faxing.
