Autopom! is an insurance agency based in California, which offers vehicle protection plans that are similar to extended car warranties offered by dealerships but come with additional benefits.

The company is highly rated by multiple review sites and is accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB) with an A+ rating.

Accepted mileage and coverage

Autopom! has some of the most comprehensive plans in the industry and offers different levels of protection. They cover both new cars and used ones and have different requirements, depending on the states you are going to use the coverage in. For instance, in California, autopom! covers cars that are up to 10 years old and have up to 100,000 miles on the odometer. In most of the other states, they accept vehicles that are up to 14 years old and have 200,000 miles.

What are the plans offered by autopom!?

If you decide to sign up with autopom!, you have to contact them and you can get coverage over the phone. The company will assign a Vehicle Protection Plan (VPP) specialist whom will consult with you to determine the best plan for your needsAs we’ve already mentioned, you can get coverage for both new cars that are still under manufacturer’s warranty and used cars as well.

There are 4 levels offered by autopom! and each of them comes with its own plans. Some plans are only available in certain states, others are available nationwide. For example, California requires the coverage to be sold as Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) and must be sold by a licensed insurance agent. Autopom! is licensed to sell MBI in California.

You won’t find fixed quotes on autopom!’s website, because the quotes depend on your type of vehicle, its age, condition, mileage. etc. Depending on these factors, there are some cars that may not be eligible for coverage.

Down payments for autopom! start from 5%, ‘with the balance paid over 6 to 24 monthly payments.

The four VPP levels offered by autopom! are: Powertrain-Plus, Mid-Level, High-Level and Exclusionary.

Powertrain-Plus has 5 plans to choose from.

Mid-Level - 4 plans

High-Level - 5 plans

Exclusionary - 6 plans

What is it included?

Each level has its own mileage requirements, maximum term contract and different coverage included.

Powertrain-Plus

It covers listed components for all the essential major systems of your vehicle: the engine, transmission, transfer case, drive axle, differential assembly. Powertrain plus also includes coverage for listed components in the electrical, air conditioning and fuel systems.

The minimum term is 3 years and the maximum term is 6 years, depending on the plan you opt for. The number of additional miles is 36,000 miles (the lowest) and 100,000 miles, also depending on the plan you choose.

Mid-Level

This level covers all the systems included in the Powertrain-Plus level, plus additional listed components within the electrical, steering, fuel system, cooling, suspension system and braking.

The minimum term is 5 years and the maximum term is 7 years. All the plans in this level cover you for an additional of 100,000 miles and 125,000 miles for one of the plans (EFG Deluxe).

High-Level

It is more comprehensive in terms of coverage, including an extensive list of components in all the major systems such as engine, transmission, steering, braking, air conditioning, transfer case, electrical, cooling, seals and gaskets, fuel system.

All the plans have a maximum term of 7 years, except for one plan (Royal Premium MBI) that offers only 6 years. As for miles, all of them include coverage for an additional 100,000 and 105,000 for one of the plans (Mercury Deluxe).

Exclusionary 

This is their most complex and premium level and it pretty much covers all the components of the car. This level is the closest you’ll get to the manufacturer’s original warranty.

Exclusionary plans range from 3 to 8 years and 36,000 to 100,000 additional miles.
